Chapter 5

The next morning after almost being murdered by a psychopath nerd, we find ourselves currently walking with the sheriff with Weems trailing behind us as we walk towards her office.

"How could you miss a dead body?" Wednesday questions.

"Well he could have turned into a zombie." I say causing them to look at me like I'm stupid. "What you believe in vampires but not zombies?"

"Cause it wasn't there. No footprints, no blood, no sigh of a struggle. Nothing, nada. My search party looked all night." The sheriff ignored me and said.

"Well, your search party must have left their seeing eye dogs at home. We saw that monster kill Rowan right in front of us." Wednesday spoke.

"I still remember it's monster growl before it left." I say.

"Get a good look at this monster thing?" He asked.

"It was to dark all we could see was it's shadow clawing at Rowan." I respond.

"Maybe it's one of your classmates." He replies.

"Sheriff, I find that question offensive." Weems speaks up.

"Well I don't care, cause I got three other dead bodies in the morgue. Hikers just ripped apart in the woods." The sheriff yells.

"The mayor said those were bear attacks." Weems said.

"Well, the mayor and I disagree on that."

"So you automatically assume a Nevermore student is the murderer, even thought there's no evidence a crime was even committed." Weems exclaimed.

The sheriff looks over to us before saying "I'm sorry. I forgot, you only teach the good outcast here, right?"

Weems just sighs as we walk into her office.

"My guess is Rowan ran away. State troopers have put out an alert, and I've contacted his family, but they haven't heard from him either." She says sitting down at her desk.

"If he ran away that means he's a zombie since last time we checked he was dead." I say bored.

"What we're you two doing out in the woods with him Addams?" The sheriff questions.

"Why do you make it sound like we were banging him in the woods?" I asked with a disgusted face.

"Ms. Addams!" Weems yells out for my inappropriate comment.

"What we both know I'm right. And we heard a noise in the forest and went to investigate. No dirty things done in the woods don't worry." I respond.

Wednesday looks at me to shut up. 

"That's when we stumbled upon the attack." Wednesday adds.

"Then what happened?" Sheriff says.

"Then we ran into Bianca Barclay, and I told her to go for help. Next thing I remember, I was awaking in my dorm. And Nikova was still sleeping his hers." She responds.

"And just to be clear, this monster wasn't a bear or some other wild animal?"

"We've hibernated with the grizzlies. We know the difference." I say.

"Thank you, sheriff . I think Miss Addams's are done now." Weems suddenly says getting ready to escort him out.

"Actually, we'd like to speak to sheriff Galpin. Alone." Wednesday states.

"I'm not sure I can allow that." She replies.

"I'm sure I could take them to the station and get a formal statement." Galpin says. "Yeah let's go" He gets up ready to leave.
