Eugene had yet to wake up since arriving at the hospital. Just a few minutes after we found him in the woods the ambulance arrived just in time and immediately took him in for surgery. He was in a coma recovering and almost everyday Wednesday and I would visit him. I made sure he always had fresh sunflowers in his room and helped Wednesday take care of his bees even though all I wanted to do was smash them to death for stinging me but I knew how much they meant to Eugene.
Today was the long awaited parents weekend that I was dreading. Wednesday was currently waiting for out parents arrival while I have Archery practice scheduled which I was thankful for.
Arriving first to practice I put down my bag and walk over to the equipment shed to grab a spare bow and a few arrows. Closing the shed I turn to see a few people on the team including Xavier arrive but I kept to myself not wanting to engage in their current conversation. Walking past them they finally noticed my presence stopping their conversation. This was the first practice I've attended and have yet to meet the team which might I add was all boys.
A guy with blonde hair and glasses speaks up as I'm setting up my arrow.
"I'm Andrew, captain of the archery club. We don't get many girls joining but we're glad to see a change. Welcome." He sticks his hand out so I can shake.
"Nikova Addams, thanks for the welcome." I say grasping his hand and shaking it before letting go.
"I'll give you our practice schedule after we're done and if you need any help feel free to ask me." Andrew sends me a flirty smile that I try hard to ignore.
I looking behind him to check out the rest of the team, there's 6 other guys on the team including Xavier. Each of them introduced themself and soon after practice began.
I watched my arrow hit the bull's eye meanwhile I could feel many pairs of eyes on me. Arrow after arrow hit the center and after my 20th one I put down my bow to take a water break. It was exhausting showing off but I had to make it known I wasn't an amateur. Sitting down on the bench where I left my bag I pull out my water bottle and take a big drink. I sit looking up at the clouds enjoying the fresh air. But soon my peace is interrupted by someone sitting next me as they crinkle their water bottle obnoxiously.
"There's other places to sit." I turn to Xavier with an annoyed expression.
"Yeah but here's more comfortable." Xavier replied never breaking eye contact with me.
I scoff shaking my head as I turn to look back at the sky. The more I try to ignore his presence the more I start to think about him. He's like an infection spreading threw by body that I want gone.
"You seemed like you had fun with Bianca at the RaveN." I broke the silence which I immediately regretted.
He turns to me and looks towards the ground. "If you count sitting at the table last night fun then sure."
"I was talking more about you to making out." His head shoots up in rapid speed and I feel an urge to massage his neck but I keep my hands clenched. "Glad you worked out your problems and got back together." I said with so much sarcasm.
"We're-" He's starts saying but he gets cut off leaving me to never hear what he was going to say.
"Hello my little storm cloud!" My father yells out of no where.
My head snaps to my left and I see my parents and two siblings making their way towards me.
"Stab me in the throat." I mutter to myself.
"How's school darling." Mother questions as I stand up when they reach me.
"Torture." I reply.
She's opens her mouth to speak but closes it when Pugsley throws himself at me. He wraps his arms around me hugging me tight.
