There was red mop creature and a duck guiding me in this bizzare world I'm trapped in...objects are talking...my hands glow...I see her...
I heard birds chirping outside, indicating that I should be awake already but I don't feel like it because my eyes feel tired. I squint my eyes and looked around.
The summer sun shines bright as it rises up from the east. Dew on the leaves glisten as a result of the summer rain that poured last night. Birds flew around. One of them went towards a small house and rested on the window that shows a bedroom, in which I sleep in.
Not a hint of energy could be found in my body. I closed my eyes again in an attempt to have 5 more minutes of sleep. Maybe I could continue that crazy dream I had last night. That dream where I was some kind of warrior stuck in the forest where I had to find my 2 friends whom got captured by some villains I don't know about. And then I see something glowing right behind some trees. I wanna see it properly so I went near and...
"Manny Sheldon!"
Oh my gosh, I have to wake up now. One of my foster dads, Robin, has came into my room.
"5 more minutes, papa," I groaned as I rolled to the other side and pulled my blanket closer to me.
Robin sat beside me on my bed and removed my blanket. Despite that, I still went for the urge to get more sleep.
"Doi, sweetie, today is Monday," he said. "You have to go to school again."
Of course, it's Monday! The day when I got to go to school again because another week started yet I've consumed all of my energy throughout the weekends. But I'm left to no choice. Everyone says if you complete school, you'll be able to achieve your dream job. I do have dreams but I really hate school!
Almost everyone in school seem very rude to me. My classmates bully me because I don't know who my real parents are as I live only with my adoptive dads. They laughed when I asked what the word "mom" means. Not only that, they also bully me because I tend to have some weird abilities that makes me far from being a "normal human being".
Teachers were supposed to be nice and caring especially to bully victims. But mine are nothing worse than my classmates. They were being unfair to me and they call me a freak as I couldn't act "normally" like the rest of the class. One time I got in detention only because I accidentally formed a huge crack in the blackboard when I only lightly tapped it by accident.
I was left to no choice but go downstairs to eat breakfast and get ready for another week of torture in school. Robin placed 2 sausages and one fried egg sunny side up on my plate and did the same to 2 more plates, in which one of them belongs to him obviously. I saw his face turn slightly angry as he sees only one toasted bread in a small plate.
"HARRY!" he yelled. "THE OTHER TOAST IS MINE! ALL 3 OF US CAN ONLY HAVE UP TO ONE TOASTED BREAD!"
Harry, my 2nd adoptive dad, came out of his hiding place, giggling as he was holding 2 slices of toasted brown bread. Robin furiously grabs one of them and puts them in his plate. I swung my chair back and forth like as if it was a rocking chair, despite not having curvy slopes below, out of boredom.
"Don't do that, Doi," said Harry as soon as he saw me doing it. "You might fall backwards and hurt yourself."
"Not to worry, hun. This young lad will soon not get affected to small accidents starting tomorrow as it's gonna be his birthday," replied Robin as he ruffles my hair.
"Oh yeah you're right! Happy advanced birthday, buddy!" Harry looks at me with a smile.
I'm very excited about my birthday but I'm confused of what Robin meant. Not affected by small accidents? How would that change me? I got even more confused as I try to listen to their conversation.
"I really can't believe time flies so fast," muttered Harry. "The day of our freedom is getting nearer."
"Yeah but what if he-who-must-not-be-named finds out that The Destined Boy is being kept hidden in this place?" Robin asked worriedly.
"As long as he doesn't pursue too quick about finding out what disaster was happening out there before his birthday, we're all good and Manny is safe enough to prepare for his future mission," replied Harry.
I swallowed a chunk of sliced sausage and went near where my dads are talking. "Uhh hey daddy, papa, what are you both talking about?"
"It's nothing, dear, just some adult stuff," answered Harry.
"But I heard my name in your conversation," I said.
"Oh, we're just talking about how we will help you with your brighter future," Robin told me with a smile.
I still couldn't get what my dads were talking about as I travel my way to school. A new week of hell, I thought to myself. I don't have the slightest idea that right now, there's some mysterious magic growing deep within me soon...
