There were lots of boxes and travelling bags piled in the living room. Furnitures seemed to be moved and the bookshelves were empty. I tried to ask my adoptive dads what's going on but they seem very busy.
Soon, a bunch of men wearing different types of clothes ane covering their faces with facemasks and hoods, came and they carried the boxes and the bags. I followed Robin, Harry, and those men into the car. I looked at our house for one last time.
I'm gonna miss you I sadly thought.
Don't worry, sweetie, we'll have a better home soon and you'll probably see your real parents again! replied Robin.
And so we departed. I kept looking at our house until it eventually disappears from my sight. It's then I realized something. We're heading into a forest that no other people dared to enter because it's been rumored to be infested by dangerous mythical creatures. Am I secretly a forest creature?!
"Hey daddy papa! Where are we going?" I asked.
"Didn't I told you earlier? We're going to the place where you were born, the place where we will live from now on," said Robin.
"WE'RE LIVING IN THE FOREST?!"
Harry laughed. "No, Doi. The forest is just where the portal is. And that portal leads to our new home...which is actually our old home when you were just a little baby."
"There's a portal?" I repeated. "WOAH COOL!"
I couldn't stop being overwhelmed with excitement and fear as the car we're riding in went deeper in the forest. We passed through hanging vines, thornbushes, and muddy swamp. Soon, I could see a beautiful sparkly waterfall hidden in huge thick rainforest trees.
"Ok let's transform," announced Robin.
I have no idea why but I did it anyway and I turned back into this blue-haired yellow skinned humanoid being. Harry and Robin turned into duck and red mop creature thing as well. The men who helped us carry the travelling bags and boxes turned out to be Harry's clones. I accidentally summoned a transparent shield above me in fear as our car went nearer the waterfall (a/n: the car they're riding has no roof at all cuz my imagination's wacky af lmao).
"There's no need to shield yourself!" laughed Harry. "The water coming from that waterfall won't make us wet!"
"Wait wha-"
I put my arms down, causing the shield to disappear. Our car went through the waterfall and Harry's right! We didn't get wet at all! Instead, i felt really cold. At the other side of the waterfall seems to be the mirrored version of the world we came from. I groaned in boredom since I had way too high expectation (a/n: jeez Manny! I hope my grades in school were as high as your expectation about the other world were!) As we drove through the seemingly same muddy swamp we encountered earlier, an ugly-looking creature comes out of a tree.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
"No Manny it's alright!" Robin hushed me. "She's friendly!"
"Welcome back to Dehamis!" cheered the swamp creature. "Geez, 11 years seemed like a millennium!"
(A/n: I definitely didn't made up a world name out of the initials of Dont Hug Me I'm Scared out of laziness :D)
"Yeah! Thanks for granting us Cantaohan by the way! I really look handsome as fuck in my human form unlike Harry," teased Robin with Harry smacking him in response.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I grant that to The Destined Boy's guardians?"
The swamp creature lets us pass through and we drove to the same thornbushes and hanging vines from earlier, which is making me groan. But my mood suddenly changed when we were getting near the exit of the forest. The town looks very different from the world we came from!
It looks quite normal except, there seem to be something strange going on. In the normal world, there are only 3 skin colors namely white, brown, and black. But here, there weren't only flesh colored people. Some are blue skinned, others were gray. There were even yellow people like me! And if there's anything more bizzare, some of the objects there have faces and limbs.
"So uhh where's our new house?" I asked.
"That's the problem," replied Harry. "We forgot the house where your parents live. Plus, we don't even know if it's still standing or not after the attack."
I frowned. This world is nothing like what I grew up with. Everything around were too unfamiliar to me. What if I accidentally break one of the rules, which I didn't know exist? Anxiety starts to flow over me.
"What's the matter, sweetie?" asked Harry. "I could see your eyes getting purple."
"Stop looking into my eyes! It's making me insecure!"
"There's no longer something to be insecure about anymore. Also, let me tell you, your eye colors change according to either the flow of your emotions or powers. You'll cope with it soon," explained Robin.
At one corner of the town, we saw a house, labelled "WELCUM, DEZTIND BOI!" (A/n: yes I wrote that on purpose bitch >:]) My foster dads seem discouraged but I feel delighted. We will now have a house to live in!
Robin whispers to me through telepathy. I don't trust this house at all, Doi
Why not? I questioned.
The Destined Boy is you! It seems to be a trap made by our enemies so they can capture and kill you easily.
But it seem very cool!
"MANNY NO!" Harry yelled out of fear but he was too late because I already went out of the car and ran into the house.
I marvelled at the sight of such a cute house. The color palettes of the walls, windows, doors, and furnitures were more colorful than our old house. I looked up the wall of the living room and saw a blue clock with red hands. Oh wait a minute. Why does that clock have 4 yellow bars positioned around the sides instead of numbers 1-12?
Suddenly, Harry's clones went in, carrying the bags and the boxes. Harry and Robin followed. The boxes were settled on the floor.
"Uhh I thought you don't trust this house?"
"We actually don't trust this house," answered Robin. "But we can't find anymore empty houses so we're left to no choice but choose this one."
Soon, we've finished setting things up in this house. I ran and explored excitedly around the house and stopped when Robin told me so, saying that there might be some of you-know-who's undercover agents hiding around, waiting to capture me. Bored, I walked up to the dining room. On the table, I noticed an interesting-looking notepad.
Curious, I went nearer the table and stared at the notepad. I couldn't hold the urge and decided to try and see what's inside that thing. But before I could touch it, Harry and Robin came. They're going to discuss how they're gonna find my parents.
"Well, you guys can put me in orphanage and then put a sign on my chest, saying 'where my parents?' accompanied by a sad face," I suggested.
"No, Manny, there's a chance that instead of kind strangers going to help you, it could be our enemies who'd take advantage of you," said Robin.
"Well that's the problem," added Harry. "We can't get to find this poor boy's parents with you-know-who and his enslaved manipulated army coming after Manny."
"Uhh how about we go look for 2 people who look a lot like me? That sounds really fun!"
Harry shook his head. "It's not as easy as you think it is. The species your mom came from is completely different from your dad's."
"It means you're a hybrid. You're a half sorcerer, half dilawin," added Robin.
"I'm a sorcerer? Cool!" I responded happily and then paused for a second. "Wait what does dilawin mean?"
"It's the species of yellow-skinned people with round orange noses like you," said Harry.
Before I could ask more of my questions a female voice interrupts.
"OH BOY! ROOMMATES!"
All 3 of us got startled. I looked to see where the voice was coming from and was shocked to see that the notepad is alive!
