It Was Always You

*Lacey's pov

I bit my lip and played with my hands nervously as we left the diner and headed to the studio. "Lacey relax, please baby" he said reaching over holding my hand. "But-" "no Lace, relax" he said kissing my hand. I took a deep breath and tried to relax. He pulled into his spot and shut off the car. "Lacey no matter what they say, I love you and nothing will change that. I know you support us and me and that's what's important" he said. I nodded and he kissed me, "ready?" He asked caressing my cheek. "I guess" I said placing my hand over his. He smiled some and got out opening my door. He slipped his arm around my waist and led me inside. "Morning Adam" the woman behind the desk said smiling. "Morning Lindsey" he said and smiled at her. I took a deep breath and leaned in closer to him. He smiled and tightened his hold on me. We reached the door and he stopped looking at me. I nodded and he opened it and led me inside. "Took you long enough Levine" James said and stopped seeing me. "What's going on?" They asked gathering around. "We need to talk" he said, "have a seat." They eyed him and sat on the couch. "We need to talk about our conversation last night" Adam said. "What about it?" Matt asked. "All of it, I asked Lacey to send you a text about me running late when she saw it all and well it made me later" he said. "Look we were being honest" Matt said. "No-" Adam started and Jesse cut him off, "no, you were being judgmental and said you hated her pretty much after assuring her that you weren't like that hours before at dinner. It honestly doesn't matter if she likes the music, I bet your wives don't like it nearly as much as they say they do" he said.

They eyed him, "what you like her?" They asked. "Yea I do, because she makes Adam happy. She helped him through a rough time when we couldn't. She was honest enough to tell him she hated him and hated his music and still he managed to love her and her him. She challenges him and supports him and us despite it all. So yea I like her" he said and stood beside me. I smiled and mouthed a small thank you. He smiled and nodded slightly. "Yea but for how long will she support him and the music?" James asked. "For as long as you do it. I don't have to love your music to be proud of your success." I sighed, "I don't care if you believe me but don't lie to me or Adam. Grow a pair and be honest. Jesse was and I respect him for that. Like it or not I'm here to stay and all I'm asking for is a little respect, the same respect I've shown you all" I said. Adam smiled and kissed me, "love you" he said just slightly louder than a whisper so everyone could hear. The guys were quiet but they seemed to understand and agree with us and nodded. "I'll catch a cab home" I said kissing him again. "Stay" he said. I shook my head, "no it's okay really" I said. James stood then, "stay Lacey" he said. I eyed them, "you're right we lied right to your face and Adam's and that's not fair. We judged you and we know almost nothing about you. That's not fair to you and Adam and it's not normally like us." He said. I looked around and they seemed sincere, I nodded and sat on the couch.

Adam kissed me lightly and went into the recording booth with the guys. They seemed excited, like kids in a candy store. It was cute to watch and to experience. I watched laughing and listening enjoying Adam's soothing voice. Hours passed and their loud chatter became exhausting and I fell asleep on the couch. "Wake up my love" Adam whispered waking me gently. "Hmmm what time is it?" I asked groggily. "About 9:30" he said. "Wow, that was a long session" I said stretching, "yea it was a good session" he smiled. I kissed him lightly. "Come on how about a late dinner?" He said. I nodded and we left saying goodnight to the guys as we went.

"Wake up wake up wake up!" I yelled jumping on the bed. "Today's the day!!" I shouted laughing. "Lace, come on its early" Adam groaned. "But your album comes out today!" I laughed plopping on the bed beside him. "You need to chill" he said, sleep still heavy in his voice. "You need to wake up" I grinned kissing him. "Mmm okay" he smirked pulling me over him kissing me hard. "Now what has gotten into you, I didn't think you'd be this excited" he said eyeing me. "Hey! I resent that! I've been very excited about this album!" I said playing hurt. "Only because we covered your favorite song" he laughed. "Shut up, sex and candy is amazing!" I laughed. He laughed rolling over me, "yes it is" he said kissing me harder slipping his hands under my shirt. "Ad you know what this means right?" I asked pushing away from him gently. "Lace please not this again" he said groaning. "No it's not," I said knowing he meant my nervousness about being alone, and what that meant for us. "I need your help, I want to plan a fun little weekend vacation for the girls and the families when you guys leave" I said. "Oh okay, well then that's different I can help there" he laughed. "I don't know what to do!" I said, "help me!" "How about get a suite at Disney and let the kids go crazy and once they pass out break out the alcohol" he laughed. "Uh no alcohol in Disney dear" "damn, okay paint night, kids can take over the basement with music toys and sugar and you can paint and drink. Everyone can pass out where they please" he laughed. "Adam!" I groaned, "wait that might work" I said.
