It's Me Or Him.

chapter 3

"Thank you so much for doing this." I said as I hugged his parents.

"We would do anything for you darling, it's better than going into a foster home." They replied.

Giving them a quick smile as they left me in my new room to so I could get settled. Sitting on my bed I looked around the room, it looks perfect.

Walking over to my desk I saw a letter there with my name on it. Quickly opening it I saw it was a letter from my mother.

Dear Olivia,

I don't have enough time to tell you this but, please don't leave your room. Your father has been planning a while to get rid of me. I'm not sure what he means about that but be safe. I've told riley 's parents this morning about your father so tonight they will call the police and send him away from you. I don't want you to be in foster care so riley's parents are going to take you in. Incase this is the last time we ever speak again, I love you darling.

From mother.

Some tears left my eyes as I read the date she wrote it. The day everything happened. My mother could be dead and I wouldn't even know.

Deciding that today has been very eventful, I went over to my bed and let sleep over take me.

The next morning I woke up to the smell of pancakes being made. Hoping out of bed, i walked downstairs to see Riley 's mother, May, cooking pancakes.

"Good morning sweetie."

"Morning," I replied with a smile on my face.

"How did you sleep?"

"Really good."

I had a conversation with may for a bit till riley came down on the phone to someone.

I tried to ignore it till I heard the voice. It was a girl, that feeling I was feeling yesterday was back and I have no idea what it is.

Pushing it aside as Riley came off the phone he came into the kitchen.

"Mum I'm going out today," he said whilst messaging someone.

"With who?"

"My girlfriend." He responded.

At that moment I felt my heart shatter, why was I like this. I don't like Riley , do I? No no I can't like him, he's my best friend.

"Okay be safe sweetie."

And just like that Riley left the house. I looked back at may who was looking at me already.

"So what do you want to do today?" May said.

"Can we go shopping?" I asked.

"Of course we can. Now go and get ready." She beamed.

Quickly giving May a hug, I went back into my room and decided what I wanted to wear. In the end I decided on a pair of leggings and an oversized jumper. Then I went over to my vanity table and straightened my hair. Quickly grabbing my shoes and purse I went downstairs to see that May was already aswell.

We both jumped into the car and went to the closest mall to us. The plan is to do some shopping then grab some lunch to finish the day.

As we was walking around the place, jumping shop to shop. I heard a familiar laugh. Thinking nothing of it we continued shopping. But the laugh was getting louder.

Getting fed up of hearing it I looked around to see Riley and a girl together holding hands. That feeling I felt in my stomach this morning, I felt again. I quickly stopped looking at the couple before they noticed and was about to continue walking till I heard my name being called.

"Olivia!" Riley shouted. Turning around with may I saw riley and the girl coming to us.

"Hey," I replied.

"What are you doing here with my mum?"

"I thought I would take Olivia shopping today." May responded, and I nodded my head to agree with her.

"Well I would like you to meet, Addison, my girlfriend."

I looked over to Addison, to see she had blonde wavy hair, bright blue eyes, she was around 5'5 and wore a tight dress with a cardigan.

"Hi," she said with the most fakest smile I've ever seen.

I didn't greet her back. Instead I pulled out my phone out and acted like she wasn't there.

"Well nice to meet you Addison. Well me and Olivia better continue shopping." May said for me.

"Wait why don't I have Liv and you can go and relax," riley said before we could walk off.

"No I'll be fine." May said, obviously knowing how uncomfortable I am around Addison.

"Okay then, see you at home then." He responded just as started to walk off.

-time skip-

Me and may have finally made it back to the house with the shopping, she helped me carry my bags upstairs and left me to unpack them.

Whilst I was out shopping, I grabbed myself some new clothes and some new art supplies.

Putting everything away. I heard the front door close and I heard riley 's voice.

Quickly I finished up in my room and ran downstairs to see nothing disappointment. I saw Addison and riley there. Dropping my happy mood, Riley explained how Addison was staying for dinner.

Letting out a groan, I walked myself back upstairs and into my room. I grabbed a book to read and got comfy on my bed whilst reading a book about romance, a bit ironic if you ask me.

After a good 30 minutes of reading, there was a knock on my door. Then Riley waltzed in.

"Hey liv I wanted to check on you since you didnt look good in the mall or when me and Addison got back."

"Yeah I'm perfectly fine. Just not in the mood to meet new people."

"Well take your time and come down soon, movie night tonight." He said while doing a little dance. I laughed and nodded my head in response. Once he left my room, the smile I had on my face left.

I continued reading more of my book til I got bored.

What else can I do? I thought to myself.

"Olivia dinners almost done!" May shouted.

I let out a sigh and went downstairs to join everyone else.

"Welcome back Liv." May said.

I gave everyone a wave and sat down on the living room floor by the dog, Hugo.

Hugo is a loveable dog. He is a German shepherd which makes it even better. I've always wanted a German shepherd, so on my last birthday, riley bought me one and ever since then me and Hugo have been best friends.

"Come on Liv, dinner is done." May repeated herself once again.

Letting out a sigh I gave Hugo one more hug before I went and sat down at the dining table.
