Chapter 14: Cold Shift

The next day, Camilo approched Dolores. He noticed what she've heard. She've heard that Abuela tried to approched Julieta, but it failed again.

"I just wish Abuela and tía Julieta have a good time.," Dolores said.

"What do you mean?," Camilo asked.

"Well, just like everyday, tía is very distant to Abuela again.," Dolores explained. "Mirabel told me that Abuela's words against her was the reason why.," she added, refering to her dream last night.

"Mirabel? She's dead, right?," Camilo asked again.

"Remember what mama and papa dreamt about her?"

"Oh. I forgot.," Camilo said.

Camilo was serious about Dolores' answer, but he realized something.

"Wait, did you see her in your dream last night?"

"Sí, hermanito."

"Even thought she's dead, Mirabel's soul has been visiting us these days recently.," Camilo said. "And, yes, her soul is visiting us.," he added, clarifing the past couple of days within the familia.

"How did you know about that?," Dolores asks.

"Remember how tío Bruno and mama visited Abuela a day after Mirabel visited her, and then when mama asked tío the other night-," Camilo explained.

"Go on.," Dolores said, promting Camilo to add more.

"and then when we heard mama, tío and Isa visiting her grave and, finally, when we tried to help tía Julieta the previous day for desayuno?," Camilo said, ending the clarification that Dolores asked.

"Oh! I forgot. Sorry about that.," Dolores said, apologizing Camilo for forgetting the recent events within the family.

"It's ok about that.," Camilo said. "Besides, we need to take care of our Casita even more after the tragedy from a couple of weeks ago.," he added and Dolores agrees.

Later that day, Camilo was at his room and it was time to sleep. But he might be worried about what would happen for his dream.

"As what have been in serious motion recently, Mirabel is visiting us for a reason.," Camilo said to himself.

Despite that commotion, he decided to slept it out. Suddenly, Mirabel's soul arrived at his room. And from the cold wind that he felt, Camilo woke up.

"Mi-Mirabel?," Camilo asked.

"Come on, Camilo, you know it's me.," Mirabel said.

After clarification, Camilo hugged Mirabel. A very soft hug he wanted for his cousin.

"So, how has it been lately?," Camilo asked Mirabel while wiping his right eye.

"Don't worry, I'm ok. I'm ok about that," Mirabel said.

"I hope so.," Camilo sadly said.

"Why? You've missed me, don't you?," Mirabel asked.

"Yeah! All of us are.," Camilo answered then, he was sad again. "You know, Mirabel, all of us in the family won't be the same without you."

"I know that, Camilo. Always.," Mirabel's soft voice said.

"Say, you really need to visit Tonio sooner than later.," Camilo said.

"I know.," Mirabel said. "You parents and your sister told me about it. I'm sure he'll really hug me softly after I visit him.," she added.

Both Mirabel and Camilo laughed. Then, the former said his goodbyes to the latter.

"I know it's hard but I need to say goodbye to you, Mirabel.," Camilo said. "I'm gonna miss you.," he sadly added.

"I know, Camilo. I know. I miss you too.," Mirabel said.

"Bye!"

"Bye!"

After saying thier goodbyes, Mirabel's soul disappeared in front of Camilo. He knows he won't see his favorite cousin again, but for sure this would be the only time they've talked after the tragedy.
