Three Months Later

Y/N Pov.

Lee and I are sneaking up to a bush while in the forest and in front of it is a walker. Lee stands up and pulls his axe over his shoulder before bringing it down into the walker's skull. He kicks it off his axe after it's dead and I stand up after as Mark walks up to us from behind. We all look at the rabbit that the walker was chewing on.

Mark: Damn it. What'd they get this time?

Lee: Looks like a rabbit.

Mark: Well, that's another meal lost.

Y/n: Probably wouldn't have fed many of us, anyway.

We all start to walk again and I tilt my hat up a little as we travel through the forest. The trees are mostly all orange now as it's now fall. We met Mark a while ago after the pharmacy, when he was trapped in a military base.

Mark: I still can't believe we went through all that commissary food in three months! It seemed like so much at the time.

Y/n: Well I guess a small group of people runs through a lot of food in record time.

Mark: No kidding.

As we walk, we pass more and more trees that have gone from green to a mixture of Orange and Yellow. Lee's in a new coat, red shirt, and even an undershirt now and Mark is wearing a black or dark greyish shirt with another shirt underneath that. Now I'm in an orange tank top instead of a red one, but still wearing black shorts. I even found a pipe at the airbase that I use as a whacking stick just in case.

As we walk through the forest, trying to find anything to bring back to the group, Lee and Mark talk.

Lee: Maybe you shouldn't have opened the door.

Mark: Yeah, except then I'd probably be food right now. Trust me, I have no regrets!

Lee: A rabbit's hardly a meal, Mark, but... I'd take it.

Y/n: We're all hungry, that's for sure. But I'm tough.

We turn and go pass a tree, passing some large rocks. Mark has his rifle in hand and Lee just has his axe, but if things go bad my fire and pipe can handle the job.

Mark: No kidding. When I accidentally grabbed for Carley's rations the other night, I thought she was gonna take off my hand!

Lee: We're all on edge. Just cut her some slack.

Mark: Yeah, you're right. I wish I knew for sure how much food we have left.

Y/n: Well I don't think we're in a super bad way, right now. We've just gotta pull ourselves together and work as a team, then we'll keep on surviving with no problem.

Lee: I like the optimism, but it's going to take a lot more than working together to survive.

Y/n: (Sigh) I know.

Lee puts his hand on my shoulder.

Lee: We'll manage. Like always.

Mark: Maybe. You know some people aren't too happy about the way Lilly is handling rations.

Lee: Lilly knows it's important to keep the adults fed and functioning. Sometimes that means someone's gotta miss a meal.

Looking ahead, I see some trees with red leaves now.

Mark: You think Kenny's having any more luck than we are out here?

Lee: I sure hope so.

Y/n: Me, too. Last night Clementine was still hungry so I gave her what was left of mine.
