Y/N Pov.

Lee and Carley went to get some of the supplies we need to get ready. Right now it's just Clementine and I as we sit together, just looking out of the boxcar all by ourselves. I like a moment away from everything, not having to think about anything too important, like the future.

Clementine: I can't believe we're almost to Savannah.

Y/n: Yeah, it's crazy how long it's taken us to get where we are. But now that we're almost there, I'm feeling a little nervous.

Clem looks at me, and I see hear her giggle.

Clementine: Why?

Y/n: I don't know. I guess I'm just nervous to see our parents after so long. I mean, we're practically different people now.

Clem playfully rolls her eyes at me.

Clementine: Yeah, we're totally unrecognizable.

I do the same and playfully push her shoulder.

Y/n: You know what I mean.

Clementine: Yeah, I know. But just think about how excited they'll be to see us! I hope they're okay.

Y/n: Me too.

The train rides on past some more of the wilderness and I spot some birds hanging out on a branch. I point them out to Clementine and she smiles as she looks at them; something I've always liked seeing. We spot some more animals running around, like a rabbit, fox, and a big raccoon.

Y/n: Hey, Clem. Look at that!

I point out a pretty big tree that's just standing in the middle of all of the wilderness as we go by.

Clementine: Whoa, that's cool. Look how big the tree is.

Y/n: It's gotta be, like, at least a hundred years old.

Clementine: What? No way.

Y/n: Yeah, huh. My Grandpa said some trees can live for over a thousand years if they're not messed with.

Clementine: So there are trees older than us?

Y/n: Yes. I think. That's why they're so tall.

I look at Clem and laugh a little bit, getting her attention as she gets a curious expression on her face. She pokes the side of my face while keeping her eyes on me.

Clementine: What are you laughing at?

Y/n: Nothing.

She grabs my arm and starts pulling on it, trying to get me to tell her.

Clementine: Tell me...!

After a minute I finally look at her, poking her nose.

Y/n: Okay, okay! I'll tell you.

She stops.

Y/n: I was laughing because you were talking how tall the trees are and you're short.

Clementine squints her eyes at me before turning her head and crossing her arms. I touch her shoulder, but she still turns away from me and keeps her head pointed up.

Y/n: C'mon, Clem. I was joking.

Clementine: Nope.

Y/n: Clem.

Clementine: Uh, uh. Not saying anything.

I poke her, and I can see she's trying not to smile. So this time I take more drastic measures and I stand up, she looks at me, but then turns her head away again. But I can see that she's still trying to hide her smile.
