3rd Pov.

After entering the green house and Tavia leaving, the two kids spot Sarah huddled in a corner. The mark on her face is still visible even after the time that has passed and it looked like it had hurt like hell.

Y/n: Let's go talk to her.

Clementine: Yeah, that's probably for the best.

They take a march over to Sarah and she looks up at them, but doesn't say anything and still chooses to stay huddled up,.

Y/n: Hey, Sarah. Are you okay?

Sarah doesn't say anything and while Y/n tries to take a softer approach, Clem goes the opposite route as she tells Sarah to toughen up. Shit isn't sweet out here.

Clementine: You have to be tough, Sarah. Everything is harder now, but... you have to be tough to survive. We are and that's how we're still here.

Sarah: My dad's never hit me before. Even when I was really bad, he never hit me.

Y/n and Clem look at Sarah with pity as it's clear to see how shaken up she is even now. And trying to be a good friend, or at least a good person, Y/n kneels down in front of her. He can't decide what to say at the moment so just places a hand on her shoulder. He turns to Clem & nods for her to say something to Sarah.

Clementine: Madison would've been way worse. Your dad had to do it...Carver made him. So, in a weird way, Carver's the one that hit you... not your dad. He didn't want to do it, Sarah. Carver made him. He's the bad guy, not your dad.

Y/n: Agreed. Your dad was honestly doing you a favor.

Sarah: I guess so... Well, then Carver hit me super hard, 'cause it still hurts like crazy.

The two nod.

Clementine: Yeah. It looked like it.

Sarah: Thanks... for trying to help. I don't know why people have to be so mean. Like, even when I'm really mad, I still don't want to hurt anyone.

Y/n: (Shrugs) That's the way of the world these days. Well, most days. Even before times were as bad as they are now, people would get hurt just for no reason other than a disagreement or any other amounts of stupid shit.

Sarah: That's dumb.

Y/n: Ain't that the truth.

Suddenly the door to the greenhouse opens up and Tavia walks in with Reggie. She still has her gun in hand and Tavia briefly speaks to Reggie. Giving him some rather basic advice.

Tavia: Don't mess this up.

Reggie: Yeah, I get it.

Tavia looks at the kids.

Tavia: Reggie's in charge here, okay? Listen to him carefully.

Tavia leaves the place and closes the door behind her; as she does Reggie turns to the kids with a little bit of urgency while the plants are sitting on the tables behind them. They've been put in the greenhouse for a very simple job, but one fuck up & something bad might happen

Reggie: Okay, we gotta do a good job, guys. The camp is counting on us. Come on, I'll show you what to do. It's super easy.

The group goes over to one of the tables of plants.

Reggie: Pick up a pair of those shears.

They each pick up the shears and Reggie starts to demonstrate what to do.

Reggie: Okay, so we're picking these berries, right? Just pick them, put them in the basket. Simple. While you're at it, if you see any dead branches, take those shears and cut them off, and stack them neatly for composting. Got it?
