Chapter 14: Approaching Madness

Y/N Pov. 

I'm leading the group back to the Dairy and it's in our sight. The large red barn is what sticks out the most. Beside me is Clementine while the others walk behind us, & I'm still using my pipe as a walking stick. 

Clementine: Whoa, that barn reminds me of Hershel's. 

Y/n: I know, right? I wonder why all barns are red. 

Clementine: Hm...

We walk closer and soon we're at the electric fence, so I warn the others not to touch it or... well, zap. As we get closer to the gate that enters the inner part of the actual farm, I look to my right & there's Mark with an Arrow in his shoulder. 

Y/n: What the heck happened while I was gone? 

I point out Mark to everyone and Clementine gasps. 

Katjaa: Mark! Oh, my God, what happened?!

We enter the gate and Lee looks at us. 

Lee: He got shot with an arrow.

Y/n: Yeah, I think we can tell. 

I look at Mark and he's hunched over holding his shoulder as the arrow sticks out. Lilly looks at Mark next. 

Lilly: Christ! Are you gonna be okay?

Mark: Yeah, I'm fine. I should just... pull it out...

That lady, Brenda, goes over to Mark and puts her hand on his non hurt shoulder. 

Brenda: Oh, no, honey, c'mon, Brenda's got you. C'mon inside now. We'll have you all sorted out.

Brenda, Katjaa, and Mark walk toward the house and Clementine whispers to me. 

Clementine: How'd Mark get shot with an arrow?

I whisper back and look at her. 

Y/n: I'm not sure. I guess it happened while helping Lee and Andy. 

Clementine and I walk over to Lee, but not even a second later mister big nose himself comes over to Lee. 

Y/n: (Mind) Why can't this easter island statue looking jerk go away. 

I shake my head. 

Larry: What kind of shit is this?

Lee: We ran into some people on the way up here... bandits, I guess. I think it was them that attacked us.

Y/n: What were you doing, Lee? Did they come into the dairy? 

Lee: No. We were walking the perimeter of the fence and got ambushed. They started firing arrows at us from the woods. 

Y/n: Thankfully they didn't have guns. Or if they did, they didn't use them. 

Andy looks at us while Danny stands to his side.

Andy: They gave us a lot of problems in the beginning, killed a bunch of our farmhands. We were able to get 'em to stop by making a deal.

I notice Kenny glare at Andy. 

Kenny: You knew about these people? 

Danny: Food for protection. Not like we had much of a choice, but they did stop hassling us.

Larry: Goddamnit! Carley said this place was secure!

Larry looks at me and I point my pipe/weapon at him, poking him in the stomach. 

Y/n: Don't look at me, old man. We didn't even know this happened because we left before it did. We only saw bandits in the woods, but it's not like we thought this place was gonna be attacked.
