"Mike I like you." Will says with a smile.
"You what?" Mike asks him. Will looks away from him.
"Never mind." Will whispers, suddenly realizing it was probably just a joke.
"Will."
"I should probably go home." Will gets up, forgetting that his dad was home. Mike gets up after him and grabs his hand to stop him from leaving.
"I told you this was going to ruin our friendship, didn't I? Please don't go home Will." Mike says seriously. Will turns back to look at him.
"It was just a joke, wasn't it? Of course it was. I know it was. Because I can never-" Will was cut off by Mike kissing him again.
The kiss lasted longer than the previous one. Will had time to react and kiss the other boy back. It was short and sweet but both boys were happy once they pulled away from each other.
"Will I'm not joking. I promise." Mike whispers to him. "Please don't leave. You don't have to like me back but please don't go back to your house tonight."
"You promise?" Will locks eyes with him and Mike nods.
"I really like you Will." Mike repeats.
"Why?" Will asks in a dumbfounded voice. Mike laughs.
"Why? Will you're the best person I've ever met. You're smart, kind, caring and more fun to be around with then anyone else I know." Mike says with a smile. Wills face was a deep shade of red which made Mike smile more.
"Um...so...so what now?" Will looks away embarrassed.
"I'm not sure." Mike grins. Wills nods.
"Do you still want to leave?" Mike asks him.
"No." Will mutters.
"Good! Now come on, it's getting late." Mike let's go of Wills hand and sat back down on his bed. Will sat down next to him but not as close as he was before, "you're mom said that she'll drop your backpack off in the morning, didn't she?"
"Oh...uh yeah. Yeah she did." Will mutters.
"Something wrong?" Mike looks at him concerned.
"No, I'm okay." Will says unconvincingly.
"Will."
"It's nothing. Anyway, what time is it?" Will asks, changing the subject.
"Eight thirty-seven." Mike looks at his watch.
"What time do you go to bed?" Will asks.
"Around nine thirty or ten." Mike shrugs.
"Oh okay." Will says awkwardly.
"Wanna go watch a movie?" Mike suggests. Will nods quietly and they go down to the basement to watch ghostbusters.
They both sat on the couch as the movie played. There was tension in the room that both boys ignored. About halfway through the movie Mike starts talking.
"Hey Will?" Mike whispers.
"Yeah?"
"I'm tired."
"You want to go to bed?" Will asks him. Mike nods.
The two boys walk back upstairs and into Mikes room. They weren't sure about the sleeping situation.
"Um..can you sleep next to me please?" Will whispers.
"Yeah, okay." Mike smiles.
The two boys get into bed and share the same blanket. Will hesitantly grabs Mikes arm and closes his eyes. Mike smiles.
"Night Mike." Will mutters.
"Goodnight Will."
