"James and Andrew Wheeler get down from there!" William Wheeler yells at his sons.
"Relax love, they're just having fun." His husband, Mike Wheeler, puts his arm around him.
"They'll get hurt Mike." He protests while watching his two sons up in the tall tree.
The Wheeler family was out on a camping trip for the weekend. Mike and Will had been married for seven happy years. They had two sons, James Wheeler and Andrew Wheeler who were twins.
James was a quiet kid with glasses. He fit the nerd description pretty well. He loved reading and learning regardless of what other kids thought of him. He always wore a hoodie and jeans and never left the house unless he had too. He had light brown hair, a little darker then Wills hair color. His eyes were brown, just like his two dads.
Andrew was the total opposite of his twin brother. He was into sports and friends and got into trouble at school. He looked more like Mike then James did. He had raven black hair that fell a little past his ears. His eyes were brown, just like the rest of his family. He always wore t-shirts and shorts. He was friends with everyone, but his best friend was James.
"They're eight years old Mike." Will sighs in annoyance.
"It's how they learn." Mike shrugs.
A lot has changed in the two boys lives. Will was now a licensed therapist. He loved his job and it felt perfect for him. It took a long time for him to recover from his past trauma, and he was still recovering. But it was better. Sometimes he would have flashbacks or nightmares. But he no longer heard his fathers voice all the time like he used too. He's still very close with his mom and brother. Joyce got remarried to a nice man named Bob. Jonathan got married to a girl named Ava and had one little girl named Marissa.
Mike on the other hand worked as a manager for a grocery store. He was good at his job and good at balancing work and his family, unlike most people. He loved his life he's created with his husband. He loved his family more then anything. He was still close with his sisters. His sister Nancy got married to a man named Steve. His younger sister Holly recently got into a relationship with a girl named Amalia. He was somewhat close with his mom. He cut contact with his dad, due to him being homophobic and making Mikes life miserable.
They were still friends with the party. Jane got married to a nice man named Ryan, they had two kids. One older boy and a younger girl. Dustin was surprisingly engaged with Suzie. Max and Lucas were happily married with no kids.
Overall, life was great. Will couldn't have asked for a better ending. Although sometimes he questions if he deserves it. He decided not to tell his sons about his past life until they were older. But he didn't worry about that for right now. He was happy with taking small trips with his family. Going to school events, sport events, club events. Whenever his sons wanted something they most likely got it. If they wanted to go somewhere, Will would make it happen. Some people may call the twins spoiled. Maybe they were. But Will wanted them to have the good life that he never had. Mike agreed with him on this.
Will was happy. Mike was happy. Their life was happy. And they were happy together. Through the ups and downs, twists and turns, they always went back to each other. They were soulmates and both of them knew it. And both of them knew that the love they had for each other was real. And that both of them weren't ever leaving each other.
"You're an idiot Michael Wheeler." Will laughs and Mike pulls him closer by his waist.
"And you love me William Wheeler." He says teasingly. Will kisses him lightly and Mike kisses him back. It only lasts a few seconds before Will pulls away again.
"Always."
