A tight secret (Philip Graves / reader)

Chapter 1

"Y/n was it the right turn?" Philip graves the commander of 'the shadows' asked out of breath over the comms.

"Yes sir, after that the target should be through the door just to your left."

You worked intelligence guiding them through missions, it was enjoyable but definitely not easy. Every single Direction you gave had to be pinpoint if not anything could go wrong, they could get lost or worse be ambushed by Guards.

*a few minutes go by*
"We finished the job heading back." He announced and you just know he has that stupid grin on his face.

"Need help getting back sir?"
"Y/n I'm not letting what happened last time happened again I know my way back." He scoffed sounding hesitant.
"Alright. Just let me know if you do." Last time he got the whole squad lost because he decided it would be a good idea to not listen to me carefully. He's a smart man but damn he sure as hell is stubborn and that might just kill him.

*Back at base*

"Good job guys!" You said to the other soldiers coming back from the mission, then turning to graves smiling slightly
"See I told you I knew." He said proudly

"Look at you! Actually paying attention me this time! See how easier things can be when you just listen to me" You say rubbing his back so no one could see.

"Yeah yeah don't be getting cocky again." He rolled his eyes somewhat annoyed

"Cocky?! You're the one who came walking in here announcing how great you were for remembering the basic things that any soldier should know! But noo you need me almost every other time to get your ass back and to get there in the first place!"  You found it a bit hilarious that he was taking all the credit for something you basically did.

"Whatever y/n it isn't worth fighting. Though we could go finish this privately" he bended down a bit, to whisper in your ear

"Ohhh so what you pick fights with me out of thrill or what."
"Maybe."
"Well I'm not going to reject your very appealing offer and since everyone is a bit busy and distracted.." you look up at him with a slight smirk.

"Come" he grabs your hand looking around to make sure no one noticed then rushes you to his room

"Sweetheart you just—" he cut himself off to kiss you.
"Enough with the talking and keep kissing me." You kiss him harder as he lifted you up and placed you on the bed "I hate having to keep this a secret.." he muttered against your lips, still kissing you.

You pull back a bit "well superior officer having romantic involvement with his soldier..."

"Yes I know. But still doesn't take the fact that I hate it. Makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong." He said now sitting at the edge of the bed as you lay looking at him.
You and graves had been dating for a few months after endless flirting and constant "mini wannabe" dates. But of course, it had to be kept a secret. You both understood the moment you stared the relationship it wouldn't be deemed as acceptable and that wouldn't be a problem. You both knew how to keep secrets well and under the rug.

"I know.. I do too trust me but you have to think about you and how it would affect your image. You know I'd never keep it a secret if it weren't for good reasons. I like you way to much to do that." You laugh trying to cheer him up a bit.

He turns his body to face you a bit better. He looks extremely upset you felt bad but you were being realistic and he knew that. "You're right y/n but it's just a shitty feeling, you know?"

You nod then, getting up a bit to get changed into pajamas. "Babe you have to let it go for now. I'm sure one day it won't matter. Maybe when we-" you didn't want to say 'married' it was too early in your relationship to mention anything that had to do with you and him getting married. "Just relax okay? As long as we are together right?" You smiled finishing putting your clothes on than walking to him and kiss his cheek.

"Right. That's all that's important right now.." he said grabbing your waist pulling you down to the bed again then placing you on "your" side of the bed, you feel asleep in his arms.
