Chapter 3

It had been a few hours since graves had left, 2 hours and 34 minutes to be exact. You expect him to be back in at least two more hours. Everyone was getting ready, training heavily. It was clear this would be a very important mission since you (the shadows) were assisting 141. You guys didn't know what exactly it was but you'd find out in a few hours but regardless you had to be prepared and ready for the task. Now you didn't have to do much so all you need were the detractions which you'd get once there. So you decided to watch your comrades train

*training room*

"Yeah he's such an ass." You heard Moore spat out as you entered the room.
"Who?" You asked leaning against the doorway
"Graves."
"What did he do to you?" You raised an eyebrow trying not to take it to heart.
"I get you all respect him and might even admire him but I don't get it. He's just some arrogant guy who happened to get the position of commander thanks to being a hound dog for general shepherd." He shook his head clearly annoyed.

Moore had recently joined, meaning he barely knew all of us. He didn't understand that we all care for graves and not just him but this whole squad, we're all like family to each other. Now he never complained much but always rolled his eyes when he thought no one saw him. If you're being honest you aren't even sure how he made it so far in the army. He's good but the lack of respect is mind blowing. He knows how to control it because you've seen his burst of angers but that was on accident he just assumed he was alone. But this time he had the balls to actually express his frustration and you'll admit, you would have applauded it only if it weren't graves he was bad mouthing. It made you feel rightfully annoyed because who gave him the right to speak so low on graves and your father. Now you didn't care much that he had something against your father most did and you couldn't blame them. But you weren't going to allow this disrespect because you knew if graves was in your position he would've defended you.

"Graves is an excellent solider, no one can debate that. So to say he was just gifted this position is a stretch. He deserves and worked for this. He's your commander you should know better than to speak ill about him in his own base, in front of his own solider. I'm not sure if you were looking for someone to agree with you, but I can assure you none of our other comrades would. So get off your ass talking shit and go train and maybe you can be a commander one day. Which I doubt." You replied to him then turned to leave the room.

"Whatever, you're just sucking his dick at that point." He scoffed.
You stopped mid leave. You were in shock because who did this man think he is? He's the bottom of the barrel in this company.

"When you learn your place. And learn respect then come talk to me." You shrugged finally walking out of the room before he could even answer and frankly he wasn't worth listening to.

Now there was no denying Graves was a very arrogant but he's also charismatic man. And who doesn't like a charismatic man? He's bold and says what he wants, it drives you insane sometimes but it's not that bad. Sure he'd look prettier quiet and he definitely has an attitude on him and never knows when to shut the fuck up for the life of him. But even with all that he knows how to treat a girl right, trust you'd know. And let's face it he's one attractive ass man. Plus no one got the chance to know him the way you know him. Of course he treats you with respect and affection, because you were his girlfriend but still. He was a sweetheart to you and that's all that mattered to you. You'd love it if he would just be more friendly with others but even then he didn't have to if he didn't want to. He was a a bit of an ass but regardless you loved him. Now you've never told him you loved him before because.. hold on you've never said you've loved him. The realization of that skins in and you feel a bit bad because you can't remember once when you haven't loved him.. you always have so why haven't you expressed it?

"Y/n?" Graves tapped your shoulder

(I'm sorry I keep making each chapter a topic/conversation I'm trying to make it slower but not TOO slower so please bare with me! Also I hope you guys are enjoying it so far)
