He adores Baekhyun. It would have been different, she would have stayed married to Chanyeol if it weren't so painfully obvious how deeply, madly in love he is with her brother. He's the kind of man that you want to fall in love with, he's a good husband too, and yet, at the end of the day, she wasn't able to give in the the part of her that rationalized staying married to the successful and powerful man. Even though he's handsome, even though he's kind to her, even though she cares for him. In the end, she had no choice. Because he'll never look at her the way he looks at Baekhyun's postcards. The level of adoration and somber, genuine, longing in those eyes when he would look for Baekhyun in her life would never be compared to the way he views her.

And there's nobody who knows better how much he cares for Baekhyun than the person that has to watch it on a daily basis.

Love me. She would think, her heartache never reaching her lips. Her instincts never processed further than a hard throb in her chest. Love me...

So that's the way the cookie crumbles for Byun Baekhee. The woman who ambitiously took control of her destiny and got everything she wanted: money, power, her parent's approval, magazine shoots, brand name paradise, spending sprees, international vacations...

And in the end none of it added up to the one thing that she needed. She needed to be loved. Chanyeol showed her what it means to love someone. To sacrifice your own happiness for someone else, the give up everything you desire in the world to get in return the promise of saving the person you love and their family from ruin, and sacrificing the things that he finds safe and familiar to be with the person he loves.

And Kyungsoo is right. She's going to find that too. This is her first day on the job working at her ex-husband's former company and so far, the morning has been chaos. She thought being a secretary would be relatively easy, but then she remembered she has poor time management skills. This isn't quite the easy resume filler that she thought it would be. Nothing that is supposed to be easy turns out to be the way she intends.

She unplugs her phone from the charger as she pulls into the parking garage, finding a space open by the elevator waiting for her.

She needed her lunch break like she needed air, suffocating under the weight of her job. But she's not one to give up. Baekhyun always reminded her how stubborn she is, and this is just another test of her willpower to prove people wrong. Namely her parents who have relabelled her as a failure, per her mother, after turning her husband into a homosexual. Which is not true, but her mother didn't fail to leave that bitter taste in her mouth.

Sliding the phone between her thighs to hold it in place, she starts to pull towards the open spot, only to hit the brakes suddenly when a small jeep unlimited comes in from around the corner, swinging into the parking space. No tarp over the top, no doors, the modified jeep is open on all sides but the windshield and from inside of it, an extraordinarily tall man, slender and lean slides free in black slacks and a white button down shirt. He looks over his shoulder at her and winks, leaving her to pull her hands from the steering wheel so as not to snap the leather bound handle in half under her irritated grip. Before he can be accosted with her anger in loud words being shouted through a windshield to be accompanied with a variety of hand gestures, the man grabs a suit jacket from his passenger seat and waltzes inside.

"I should vandalize your ugly broken car!" She growls under her breath as a car pulls up behind her and taps their horn for her to move.

She glares into the rearview mirror and puts the car back into drive to round the garage again for a spot.

"It''s okay Baekhee. It's okay. This is just what happens to normal office workers. You're a secretary. You're a normal person in this world. No special treatments for you. You're a regular person. A normal person with no special privileges...." She chants quietly as a mantra grabbing her phone and purse and going up stairs.
