I woke up covered in sweat. My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. I soon calmed down at the realization I had slept through the night. Sun shined through my curtains and onto my blanket covered body.

Sitting up, I removed the blanket and stretched. It felt nice to know I survived the harsh night, even though nothing bad had happened.

"Good morning, Y/N." My mother opened my door and walked in my room. I was slightly startled by her sudden appearance but overall fine with it.

"Did you have a good time with Judith?" She opened the curtains, blinding me.

"I-" I was about to tell her about the movie but I don't want Judith to be mad at me. "Yeah, I had a good time."

"Oh good." My mother was about to leave but stopped at the door. "Judith will only be over on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But for now, you need to get ready for school."

I also forgot about school. This will be the first time I will go to school and needless to say, I was worried. Scared almost. New place with new people is a lot to handle.

I pushed my body out of bed and found myself in the kitchen. My brain worked on autopilot as I sat down at the table and started to eat the cereal my mom put in front of me.

"Here's your bag. I'm going to walk you there today but after this you will walk there yourself." I nodded as my mother spoke. The school was close by, just a street away from where I live.

Once my backpack was secure, I left out the front door with mom. At least the week will be short. Yesterday's Judith was over, and it was Tuesday. So starting school on a Wednesday shouldn't be bad.

"I already have it." A boys voice came from the neighboring house.

"I'm not going to drop it off if you don't." Judith's voice had an angry tone when the Myers front door shut in the little boys face.

The boy was walking in front of us to the same place. His hair was recognizable, I knew it was Michael.

"Did you hear me Y/N?" I looked up to see my mother. No, i didn't hear a thing.

"What?" I only needed a repeat, but instead, I got a lecture.

My day didn't get much better while in school. There were no classes, but instead, just looking around and introducing ourselves.

The day was finally over. Now, all I had to do was walk home.

"Y/N, right?" The same blonde boy walked up to me.

"Yeah. Michael, right?" I asked the same question.

"That's right. I think we're in the same classroom, and since we are neighbors, we walk the same way."

"We should be friends!" I suggested cheerfully.

"I agree." Something about Michael was off. He was the same way when he was over at my house. His emotions seemed fake. He acted like he wasn't real. That's ok, I still wanted a friend.

We walked home, talking about all sorts of things. I felt like we really connected with each other. Michael was special, I could see that.

Time went by normally. I spent endless nights having nightmares of that stupid movie and was never able to tell my parents what was wrong. I didn't want to tell Judith because I was nervous she would judge me. I think I'm going to tell Michael. I feel as though I can trust him.

Maybe this Thursday, he would come over again. If not, maybe we can have a play date.

That night was worse than the one before. Nightmares made me wake up, screaming in my bed. My body jolted straight up, making every muscle tense up.

"Honey, are you ok? What's wrong?" My parents ran into my room with concern written all over their faces.

"Just a nightmare." I forced myself to lay back down. My body was going into fight, flight, or freeze. It was a bit confused when I turned off my senses just to look relaxed. The last thing I need is my parents questioning why I'm so scared.

"Everything is OK now." I said with fake confidence, trying to get them to go away.

"You sure?" My father asked me to which I nodded my head.

"Alright, call us if you need anything." With that, I was left me alone once more.

I did not get much sleep the rest of the night. The sun rose just as it had before, except today should be more exciting. It was Thursday, so I would see Judith and Michael today. I would definitely see Michael during school, but it was what would happen after school that made me excited. There was a chance he wouldn't even come over, but the anticipation made me tingle with joy.

I jumped out of bed and raced down to the kitchen just like the day before. Everything was the same except now I can walk to school myself.

"You seem in a hurry." My mom spoke. It seemed like she wanted me to slow down, but I had to run out so I could walk with Michael.

"I am bye." The words left my mouth quickly as I shut the front door and raced over to the Myers house.

Michael walked out of the house with his normal, emotionless expression. Except something was wrong. This time, he looked angry. Did something happen to him?

"Hey Michael. You ok?" I tilted my head as we started to walk together.

"I'm fine." He didn't seem fine.

"Ok... well, I was wondering if you wanna come to my house when Judith is over and hang out with us?" I ripped the bandaid off and asked the question.

"I don't know -"

"Please." I gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes I could make.

"Ok, fine, I'll come over. But i want to hang out with you. Not Judith." Michael seemed to be mad at her over something.

"Really? Yay! Thank you, Michael." I let my own excitement overcome me, and my arms flung around him.

Michael stopped in his path with shock. I could feel every part of him tense up in my arms. I was going to let go, but he surprised me. He relaxed and slowly lifted his own arms around me.

"You're really sweet, Y/N...." he whispered in my ear.
