Michael's POV

I stood in Haddonfield, looking down at my hand. Placed perfectly in my palm was a photograph of Y/N. It was from when we were kids. I've missed her.

She was all I thought about. Her sweet way of talking and her energy made me crave her. Even her fear. I actually felt something when I saw her scared. Unlike when I see others scared. Maybe it was because she wasn't scared of me and everyone else was.

I don't know, and I don't care. I'm free of Smiths Grove and on the hunt. My home is different. It needs dusting. Not to mention, some of the furniture has been broken. It's still my home.

Now I'm looking for Y/N. I was about to leave my home when I heard voices. It was a teenager and a boy. The girl put something through the mail slot while they talked about the boogeymans house.

I watched as they split ways. The girl walked down the path, singing her herself. I watched her. She will become my victim. She can't just walk on my step, let alone leave things there.

My fists clenched thinking about it. I will kill her, but I need to find Y/N first. I doubt she would move away. Her parents moved here for work, so chances that they would leave are low.

What would a young adult be doing? Maybe she had a job. I started my hunt by searching coffee shops, stores, and any other small job opportunities.

She was not at any of the locations I looked. Then I remembered college. It is supposed to be what people do after high school. I don't know why anyone would want to go through more schooling, but Y/N was smart. Maybe she would be there.

I wandered in the shadows until I found a college. The campus was huge. There were so many students there, but I was determined to find her. I promised to keep her safe after all. I'll keep my promise.

I started looking in the bigger areas. Only one stood out to me. There was a large room with tables and people eating. One girl ran in the area and sat across another girl.

"Hey, Y/N. Not done with that homework yet?"

Y/N? Did I find her? I moved around the building, looking through all the windows I could.

It has to be her. Her eyes, nose, mouth, and even face shape are exactly how they used to be. My Y/N was here. If only I could get her now. I must stay patient. No one should be alive to worry for her.

I listened in to their conversation. Is she going to get a job at Smiths Grove? This changes a few things. My plans need to be altered. This is because the nurses that work there stay there. I don't think I have enough time to get her before she leaves for that hell hole.

That's when she started looking around. She knew I was there. She can feel me, I can feel her. We are meant to be together.

She left the college, driving away from me. Luckily for me, I drove here as well. The old vehicle from Smiths Grove worked great to follow others. Y/N is no exception.

She drove to a house and basically ran inside. Is this her home? I'll figure out who the neighbors are along with learning every window and door to get in.

I got on that until I thought of something. She needs to know I'm here for her. I have to give her a sign. The photograph I had is important to me, but she is more important. I left the photo right next to her door so she would see it.

I watched her write something and then watch the TV where they spoke about my escape. She didn't seem to remember me. I'll make her remember me.

That's when I heard a car drive up to her house. A woman stepped out and went up to the front door. She seems to be Y/N's friend.

They had a whole conversation about Halloween and what they would wear.

"Who doesn't have a crush on you?" Her friend must have a death wish. I'm the only one allowed to have a crush on her.

I watched Y/N receive the photograph. She barely looked at it. She must be busy. I'll make her look at it once I have her all to myself.

She was going to sleep, so now was my time to stalk my new victims. They will all be dead soon.

Y/N POV

The night felt sleepless. The anxiety I had from the job interview kept me awake for a long time. Once the night was over, I got up to get ready. It was the day of Halloween, and I had so much to do. I quickly put on makeup so it didn't look like I got no sleep, even though I did. Next, I drank coffee. I wasn't much of a coffee drinker, but I desperately needed energy for the day.

As I walked around the kitchen, the photograph from last night caught my eye. A shiver went down my spine from just looking at it. This is not from my family. Did I have a stalker? I'll have to figure it out later, I have way too many things to do today.

I was all ready. I've double-checked everything and made sure I had what I needed. My outfit was professional, and I knew how to answer any questions thrown my way.

I took a deep breath and opened the door to leave. That's when my plans got sidetracked. Someone stopped me from leaving, making it harder to get there on time.
