I ran through the halls, getting pushed around by fearful nurses and lower security level patients running free. I let out a cry as I was pushed into a wall.
"God damn." I groaned to myself, pushing my body off the wall and continuing to sprint down the hallway.
The amount of running people slowed down, turing into only a few that were last to escape. The hallways turned empty with nothing but the red lights and sirens that made my heart thump faster. What if this was the wrong choice? They are serial killers, after all. It's not like I'm a main character who always makes it out alive just for the plot. This was real life. This could kill me.
The sound of gunshots rang in my ears from down the hall. The sound was loud enough to knock me out of my thoughts. Do I really believe Michael would kill me? It was a question that has passed my mind far too many times. If there was any way to test it, this is it. I could even try to save a few lives along the way.
So, I kept running. Going back towards the commotion with a 'fuck it' attitude. The closer I got, the louder it was.
"Michael- stop." Dr. Loomis held the gun at Michael. A small threat to the obviously not afraid man.
I gasped as he pulled the trigger, sending a bullet straight through Michael's shoulder. Michael slowly looked down at the wound before returning his eyes to Loomis. Not a single expression on his face, but we could still feel his anger in the air.
"No! No, don't." I called out when he raised his gun once more, this time pointed at Michael's head.
Dr. Loomis looked over at me, distracted by my voice. Michael didn't move. He didn't need to. There were plenty of other killers that were unaccounted for. That was until now.
"Look out!" I pointed behind Dr. Loomis when I saw Bo slowly approaching from behind him. I was too late. By the time Dr. Loomis turned, Bo had already attacked.
Bo went straight for the arm with the gun, hitting down on it to make the weapon fall to the floor. Dr. Loomis was pushed against the wall by Michael, his hands gripping tightly around his throat.
"Fuck." I panicked as I moved without thinking, going to grab Michael's arm to try and pull him off. The second I made contact, Michael pushed me off and made me fall down to the floor.
A pained gasp left my mouth as I fell to the floor. I looked up to see Michael's grip loosen on Dr. Loomis. His eyes looked down at me with all his interest and attention.
"Kill him! End it, Michael!" I heard Billy chant from somewhere behind me.
"No, this isn't you." A flash went past me and towards Michael. An annoying pick me voice that I instantly knew belonged to Emma.
"Emma, don't." I tried to get up fast enough to grab her. Sure, I hated her guts. But that doesn't mean I should just sit back and watch her die. I pushed myself off the ground and grabbed her arm, stopping her from getting to Michael.
"Get off of me. I'm saving us all." She pulled herself away from me. "Stop trying to steal my light."
"How fucking stupid do you have to be?" I yelled at her, finally reaching my limit.
"You stupid bitch-" She started to yell, just for a broken off pipe to go through her throat from behind. My eyes widened in terror as her blood sprayed across my face.
"Emma...?" I whispered, watching the pipe slowly drag out of her throat and her corpse falling to the floor. There stood Michael over her dead body, bloody pipe in hand.
A few laughs rang through the hall, each one coming from one of the killers. My eyes left Emma's body the second Michael moved again. This rescue mission has officially changed. We were losing, and I needed to make sure I got out alive.
Michael held the broken pipe, shoving it right through the shocked and out of it Dr. Loomis. He let out a cry of pain as the metal went through him. It looked like it was just beside his shoulder.
I felt stunned. So much has happened in such a small amount of time, and there wasn't a single thing I could do about it. Just then, a loud bang rang through the air.
I instinctively fell down to the ground with my hands over my ears. My shoulder stinging from dropping myself on it. My eyes scanned frantically until they landed on Carter and Angela. Each one holding a gun that was aimed right at the killers. Or at least the few killers that were still in the hall.
Michael, Bo, Billy, and Stu glared at the two guards. They stood their grounds while I stayed on the floor, trying not to get shot.
"Cover your face, sweetie. I'll save you." Carter said to me, not even looking my way as he focused on the situation at hand. I did what he said, curling into a ball and holding my hands over my face.
The second I covered my eyes, I heard a shuffling sound along with a blast from a gun. A body dropped to the ground. I had to open my eyes, I had to see. So I did. I opened my eyes to meet Carters eyes, wide and unmoving as he lay on the ground dead in front of me with a single bullet in his head.
"No..." My voice sounded more like a whimper as I looked up to see what the hell happened. Tiffany and Hannibal had returned to the group, grabbing Angela and taking her gun. It wasn't her gun that killed Carter. It was Dr. Loomis's that Stu had grabbed from the ground.
"No, please don't." I moved myself off the ground, on my knees as I looked at Tiffany, who held a knife to Angela's neck.
"She would only stop us. Sorry honey, but I gotta do it." She said before gliding the knife across her neck. Angela screamed beforehand, the sound turning into a gurgle of blood as her throat slashed open.
I let out a panicked cry as I watched the scene before me. Hannibal approached, handing off knives to the group that he got. Along with the one thing that caught my eye. A mask. Not just any mask, but Michael's mask. I didn't think the sanatorium would even keep it, but here it was.
