GOTN Chap 36 - A Day With Jake

Note: There's a short Jake POV at the end of the chap- bcz yk yk Vrie's asleep at that time and I didn't have any idea on what to write if I gave Jake a whole chapter- 8 pages of all Jake- impossible so ye

I haven't seen him yet. "I dunno he's said he'll be a little late" Kircee replied. "Probably busy with the book" I said. "YOU LET HIM LEARN!?" Jake yelled. "No need to yell Jakie, he just wants to learn" Almea complained.

NOTE: last chapter; when Jake nodded, he just have them the approval for Jiro to read about his necklace. Aka, to learn new things not to learn on how to ACTUALLY use it. Just making that clear :D

"We just said that learning it without a trainer is dangerous!" Jason replied. "Sup guys" Jiro said as he walked towards us. "Where's the book!?" Jake asked. "It's in my bag- why?" Jiro asked.

"You should not be learning about it without a trainer!" Jake yelled. "But it's cool! Look I can do this now!" Jiro replied as he made some rocks and lifted them. Not just ordinary rocks, they look, glowy? They glow a purplish glow. "Woah!!!!!!!" Kircee was the first to touch.

"Wow you touched it without thinking it might be dangerous. But I guess it's not" Jiro said as Kircee held one of the rocks. "It's so pretty!" Almea said. "I know right!" I agreed. Jason and Jake just stood there staring at us like we were a bunch of lunatics.

"Put those down. Throw them out." Jake ordered. "You can't boss us around! Me and Tryion and royals and VrieVrie is a guardian!" Almea complained. Jake sighed. "Give me that book Jiro. Now. If you want to learn how to use your necklace I'll take you to my father. He will teach you." Jake said.

"Aight don't look too mad dude" Jiro replied as he gave Jake the book. "That was the dangerous thing you've done so far." Jake said. "Don't ever do that Jiro" Jason added.

"Alright. You all are getting so mad for absolutely no reason bro" Jiro complained. He's right. What do those weirdos know? He's just learning on how to use his necklace. The bell rang and we headed to our classes. Class was pretty boring. Like really, really boring. Months later.

We finally moved to our new house. And of course, Mia and I held a sleepover. Just me and her. "Girl there's a brat in my school!" She complained. "Same- But my guard dog has been doing a great job keeping her away from me" I replied proudly.

"Speaking of him, how'd you like him so far?" she asked teasingly. "Like? Uh he's my bestfriend- and guard dog I guess- and that's all. Nothing more" I complained. "Sheesh. I haven't seen that ice cube in a while. Is he still an ice cube?" she asked.

"Most of the time. You won't believe it, but I saw that ice cube melt" I replied. "Wait he cried?" She asked sounding surprised. I nodded. "Seriously?" I knew she wouldn't believe me. "Just ask him yourself, although he may get angry" I replied.

"What he cried for?" She asked. "Kay didn't fill you up on everything?" I asked. "On what? He saw Jake cry too?" She asked. "No, not that. Like he should've known that Jake's dad got poisoned right?" I asked. "I didn't know that" she replied.

"That's boring so let's change topic. You starting to like Jake? Like more than friends- I'm pretty sure you are" She teased. "Nope" I replied confidently. "Yeah you don't like him but a pic of you and him is your wallpaper and lock screen. Not to mention that photo near your bedside, it has you and him. Only." She replied.

"What? I can't have a pic of me and my bestfriend as my wallpaper?" I asked. "You can, but I don't think others would go so far as making one of their phone case have a photo of their bestfriend and them" She replied. "And yes I did see that phone case you decided to hide under your bed" she teased.

"He gave me that phone okay? He's the one who got our pic on that case not me. He just didn't know how to use it so he gave it to me. Well specifically this phone, I just changed the case" I replied. "Wait seriously?" She asked. "Yeah" I replied.

"Yeah okay that's not real. He wouldn't have gone that far to buy a phone and have a custom phone case just to give it away later on. He bought it for you and is just too shy to give it as a gift" She said. "Think what you want to think girl. He's my bestfriend, and nothing more." I replied. Even though I said that, a part of me still agrees. I mean, like who the hell would do that anyway? Omg I could tease him about it!

He never gave me any present. Not for my birthday, nor Christmas. The next day was a Sunday and Mia went home in the morning. I decided to walk to the library. Obviously to tease Jake. "Good morning Vrieya, Jake is still asleep, mind if you wake him up for me?" Mr. Kerolen asked.

"I didn't expect him to still be asleep, and good morning Mr. Kerolen. Yeah I'll go wake him up" I said. I walked to his room and knocked. No one answered of course. But it was not locked so I came in. "Who knew the ice cube sleeps like this?" I asked myself.

He sleeps like you would expect a weirdo to sleep. "Jakie boi wake up" I said. "I'll take a pic of this if you don't get up" I added. I was lying. I already took a pic that's ready to be shown to everyone in our group. "Jake!!!" I kept yelling. 'Maybe I could wake him up if I yell in his ear' I thought to myself.

So I got on the bed a was about to yell at his ear until he put his hand on my mouth. 'He was awake the whole time!?' I asked myself. Tho it made me happy that he's starting to tease me cause that means he's starting to get less emo. "What do you want? Early in the morning too" He complained. "I got here to tease you, then Mr. Kerolen asked me to wake you up." I replied. I showed him the phone case. He raised his eye brow. Of course he doesn't understand.

"You gave this to me. Why'd you even get it for yourself? You sure you didn't just make it for me???" I asked teasingly. "No. Zaile thought it would be great to have a picture of you and me in a phone case, but it would be a waste if I kept it because I just keep my phone in my drawer or in my pocket.

Why have a photo printed on a case when you're not even going to see it?" He asked. "Sheesh" I replied. "Welp- I'm also bored let's go and read near the entrance of the Celence Forest" I said. He just looked at me with an annoyed face. "We're going. Whether you like it or not" I added.

"Fine" He complained. Later on, we were reading and having fun. For the first time, Jake looks like he's having fun. Which is rare. He even smiled. A lot. "You should smile more Jake. Don't look too emo" I teased. "Emo, is short for emotionless. I have emotions. I just don't show them often." He complained.

"I want ice cream- let's go to the ice cream shop near here" I suggested. And no I'm paying for my own ice cream. I ain't a gold digger. "Race you there" He said as he started running.

"HEY WHAT! WAIT! THAT'S UNFAIR!!!!" I yelled as I ran after him. 'He's showing a lot of happy emotions right now- which is good. I wish he'd keep doing so tho' I thought to myself. I obviously didn't win. "FIRST HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE SHOP IS? TWO, YOU ARE SO FAST!" I complained. He just laughed at me!

But that made me feel better though. "I, Vrieya Cesaire has reached an achievement! I have made my emo looking bestfriend laugh!" I teased. "Whatever. What flavor would you like? And I'll pay, you probably forgot your money anyways" He asked. "I did not!" I complained. "What does that flavor taste like?" He asked.

"You're annoying!" I complained. And of course, him being Jake, he couldn't find a response. But then again, he basically said that he'll buy the ice cream. "I'd like strawberry" I replied. He nodded. He was walking towards the shop until he stopped.

He just looked at me. Hahahaha! It's just like the time it was his first day in school! His face was literally saying "pls help me I'm scared :(" "You said you'll buy, so don't look at me like that" I teased. "Fine then let's go home" He said as he started walking towards me.

"Okay fine I'll order!" I complained. I ordered our ice cream and had fun. We've been out for the whole day. "I have enough money, let's have dinner at a restaurant" I suggested. "Save it." He said. "We'll eat dinner at my place" He added. "Ohohoho someone is too shy to ask their bestfriend to dinner at their own house" I teased.

He looked away. "I just thought you'd like to taste my cooking" He complained. Okay he's being adorable right now. "Okay, okay fine. I'll taste your cooking" I said as I hugged him. "You know, I prefer this side of you Jakie. An adorable softie bean" I added. "Can we teleport there tho? My feet are tired" I complained.

"We need exercise" He replied. I whined for like five minutes just asking him to teleport us instead. "How about just sitting down while the wind blows for fifteen to twenty minutes?" He asked. "That's better than teleporting. You have a car?" I asked. "No I have arms" He replied. And he started to pick me up! "So you'll carry me?" I asked.

"Exercise" He replied. "At least one of us will get exercise unlike you" He added. "Yeah boi I'm lazy. This is waaaay better than walking" I said. "I'm not as fast as your brother though" He said. "That's fine, the wind is blowing, you're silently walking, that's peaceful. I like peaceful" I said.

He nodded and started to walk. It has been like five minutes and I was getting sleepy already. He walks so steadily and with the wind blowing softly it's making me sleepier. I yawned. Anyone would. "How can you walk to steadily and not get tired at all?" I asked.

"Because unlike you, I exercise and because of that, I get stronger, I also trained myself to be able to balance." He replied. Soon after I fell asleep. I'm not much of a sleepy head like my dad, but when it's the perfect circumstances, I do fall asleep. "Wake up Vrieya. We're here" Jake said as he shook me. We were in the library and went in inside their house. "No one's home for tonight.

Zemia is staying with papa and dad at the castle so I'll cook while you do what you do" He said. I decided to explore their house while waiting for him to finish cooking. I was looking around and I saw a piano. I didn't know how to play, but I was interested in the way the piano works. "Vrieya? Is that you? I didn't expect you to be here" Almea's voice said.

"Same here" I replied. "I'm just here to give Jakie boi some company since uncle Zane said he'll be lonely. Turns out I didn't need to" She said. "I'm just here because Jake decided to be adorable and asked me to taste his food" I replied. "Wait really?! What does adorable Jake look like!?" She asked excitedly.

"Cute shy lil bean trying to ask a crush out level of adorableness." I replied. "OMG!!!!!! I WISH I COULD'VE SEEN IT!!!!!!" She squealed a lot more than she should. Screamed a lot to get Jake worried because a few seconds of her squealing in excitement he came in. "Why are you two yelling?" He asked. "Just her" I said as I pointed at Almea. "Also, do you know how to play the piano?" I asked. "Oh yeah. He knows how to play" Almea answered. "Play for me Jakie boi! I wanna see!" I asked.

"No. After dinner, I'm taking you both home because we have school tomorrow." He said as he walked out. "emo" Almea teased. We ate dinner and it was decent I guess. "Kircee's food is better" Almea complained. Jake rolled his eyes and looked at me. I agree with Almea, but Jake's food is good too! "Ten out of ten Jakie boi" I said with a smile. And he smiled back too! "Well this is a rare sighting" Almea said as we both looked at Jake cleaning our table with a frickin smile on his face.

'Adorable and hot.' That was all that came to my mind. Wait- I can't possibly start to like my bestfriend! Surprisingly, he smiled the whole time he was cleaning. "How the hell is that possible?" Almea asked. "No idea. Tho, Jake has been smiling a lot. Well, a lot a while ago. He even teased me" I replied. "WHAT!?" Almea asked in shock.

"I'm shocked too but no need to yell" I complained. "Wow... Jake never did that! Not even to Jason- you know, his first and closest friend?" Almea said. "Seriously? I always thought Jason was lucky since he probably saw Jake smile" I said. "No one ever has. Maybe uncle Zane or Zemia has but none of his friends nor cousin has seen him smile" She replied. "And you've only known him for almost just a year" She added.

"I must be lucky then" I said proudly. "Okay let's go. Bye Almea" He said as he picked me up. "Wait again? I thought you'll just teleport me there or something" I asked. "It's great exercise" He replied.

"You being the older for a few months cousin Jake, never carried me. Yet you're carrying your friend that you've met for almost a year and in princess style!" Almea complained. "I'm just more special I guess" I said proudly. "That's fine. I'll get Jason to carry me sometime" She said as she teleported away.

"The walk to your house is thirty minutes" He said.
"I know that" I replied. With the peaceful setting again I fell asleep. It was comfy okay? Anyone would fall asleep.

Jake's POV:

Why was it so comfortable? Carrying Vrieya, walking to her home. What I'm sure of is that she's safe with me. Very safe with me. But just a few months ago, I always get this weird feeling every time she's here. It's like I don't want to disappoint her. I want her to be happy. I've also been more open to her. I'm open to Jason too, but I don't smile with him at all.

Vrieya is the first person who is not a relative to make me smile. Which is not normal. Maybe I should see the doctor. Maybe I should just ask her. She seems to know a lot about emotions.

"Vrieya?" I asked. 'Is she asleep?' I asked myself. I called her a bunch of times and yep. She's asleep. I get that feeling again. It's not a bad feeling. I can't tell if it's a good feeling or a weird one.

But I'm sure it's not a bad one. "Why are you the only person I feel this weird feeling to?" I asked to the sleeping body of my friend. She woke up fifteen minutes later. "Fourteen more minutes before we're in your home" I said. "Jake correct me if I'm wrong, did you say that you were feeling some weird feeling or was I just dreaming?" She asked.

"Yeah. I don't know what it is" I replied. I wasn't really planning on telling her but that's fine. "Does it feel good or not? Maybe you're just not enjoying my presence" She asked teasingly. 'I'm actually enjoying your company' I thought to myself. But she doesn't need to know that. "It's not a bad feeling. I can't decide if it feels good or not" I replied. "Well, when do you feel it?" She asked. "When I am with someone" I replied.
