James POV

I could tell Sophie was angry at me and in her defense she has every right too.

But I needed to do it for a reason, and I didn't want to tell Sophie at the moment. She was still frustrated at me when I decided to apologize

"I'm sorry" I slowly whispered. This word was something I would never say up until now, not even to my on parents but why do I often say it when am around her?

I saw her shoulders loosen up a bit from the way she had positioned it because of her anger, but she still wasn't facing me.

"Sophie...?" She kept silent, facing the window.

I felt she was too angry to talk to me and I respected her decision for that. I tried to keep my mind focused on the road even though it rampaging my head to find answers to questions I wanted to ask.

"Emm- James...?" She finally spoke.

"Yes Sophie" I answered still facing the road.

She finally rose her head and looked at me "was I being followed?"

I suddenly gripped tightly on the steering wheel, I felt a surge of anger flowing through my veins and my body vibrating at though I was ready to blow.

"You knew?" I said calming down my nerves

"So that means a yes, right?" She gently sigh. "I knew someone was following me after I went to see Alice" she rested her arm on the the car door.

"Then what was your plan? If you knew you were followed?" I asked. I couldn't help but to feel curious at this woman, everything about her was just different from the others and I wanted to figure out all the different characters underneath that face of her.

"Well at first I didn't really have a plan"

"Then what did you have in mind"

"After my friend left, I could notice someone talking into something, but I couldn't tell what it was?"

"Hmm?. And how are you so sure they were following you?"

She shook her head no "he wasn't the one following me"

I turned my head from driving "then who was it?"

"He was the one giving the location" she added. "He had earlier ordered a to-go drink but still decided to wait back in the càfe like he was waiting for someone"

"Do you think that someone is you?"

"At first I thought I was just overreacting but slowly it was making sense". She rubbed her chin slowly "He was often staring at me and then back at his phone but when I was about to leave he was already heading to the door"

I grinned at the way Sophie analysed everything. To be honest, I had thought telling Sophie she was followed would frighten her. Turns out she already knew. "So what happened?".

"I needed to act like a fawn" she winked at me while smiling softly. "I had to play innocent so they won't suspect a thing... Or just to make sure if they are following me. I purposely slowed down when he was heading to the door and gave a chance to track me"

I then realized the point she was making. "So you were using their trap against them"

"Exactly" she snapped. "I knew there were more of them at least three, and since they wanted to track me, I decided to play a little goose chase".

She giggled at her words and smiled from ear to ear.

"You must be really proud of yourself" I complimented. "But tell me, how did you find out about it?"
