Part 13- Her tears

"WHAT?!" Claire shouted " how could you tell me you lost her... it's been three days Tyler!"

"....."

"What happened? How did she escape?" She asked angrily

"We followed her out of the càfe after her friend left and placed a tracker in her purse but-"

"But what! You mean she vanished!"

"I'm sorry Claire. She went into another store so we followed but kept a distance but she didn't come out" his head facing downwards

"Soo your telling me you lost her!!?" She yelled "so what happened uhh, what about the tracker! Why didn't you track her!"

"....the signal went off"

"What do mean the signal went off" she paused for a while "could she have seen it?" She panicked

"No she couldn't have seen it and we made sure to keep a close eye on her from a distance"

"THEN HOW DID YOU LOSE HER!!!" She yelled angrily nearly tripping herself over.

"....."

"We can't lose her Tyler" she murmured

"I know.." he sighed "and I'm sorry. He came closer to her and held her hand firmly, while using the other to cupping her warm  cheeks. "Could your forgive me.."

She's looks into his lovely jade eyes reflecting her gorgeous face in it. Taking a deep breath to calm her self down, She rubs her cheek calmly against his hand as she holds it. "Of course my love. I'm just worried that we could be exposed if Sophie is still out there. What of she stills remembers what we did. I can't be at peace" she admitted.

"Don't worry Claire, we'll find her, so rest your head"

"Your right, she couldn't have gotten far and Jack is still taking the green tea but... "

"But what.."

"I can't help but feel like she's different now. She has a different look in her eyes. Like....she has changed" she lets go of Tyler's hand "how is even possible she escaped from the thugs, I personally watched her bleed to the point where she-"

"Claire!" Tyler abruptly yelled. "Please can..we not talk about it"

"Why?....do you still like her" she scoffed suddenly getting annoyed "do you care for her, I am the one who brought you where you are today!. I had to sacrifice my marriage for us to be together Tyler!... Now you hesitate when I speak of her". "Remember Tyler..... She came closer to his ear "you are mine"

"....."

"Understood?"

"Yes"

"Good. Now here" she hands over a piece of paper from a drawer "jack has been away for sometime so he has taken his tea so I need you to go to the hospital, room 301"

He looked puzzled "why?". "Because Mr stone is still there, I heard he got caught and landed himself in the hospital.
"That idiot" she murmured. "So I need you to get him"

"But.."

"He is still owes to me, so even if he wants to die, he will have to come back to live to pay me back" she chuckled at her own words "Alright I understand"

James POV

I just stood there looking at the night sky waiting for Sophie. I informed the butlers to bring her to the balcony on the other side of the building, where it was more private. I had wanted to spend some time with her just me and her, together.

"Mr Mayne sir" the butler knocked

"You may come in" i replied sternly.

"Yes sir" the butler walks in holding up Sophie, who was looking tipsy.

"Sophie?!" She let go of the butler almost tripping over her own feet, I Instantly reacted and held her close.

"Sorry sir but it seems miss Sophie here has had one drink too many" he informed. I stared at her dumbfounded, why would she drink wine if she knew she has low tolerance.

"Thank you, you may leave"

"The sky is pretty" as I held her from falling she just looked up at the sky. Her cheeks were red, and I looked at how peaceful she was just looking at them, and just smiled though I wanted to be angry at her I couldn't help but feel better seeing her smile. We both sat down on the bench at the side of the balcony.

"Where were you uhh? I told you to wait for me. Why didn't you wait". She giggled at me as though I had said something funny "what? Why are you laughing you think it's funny!"

She turns and looks at me, which took me aback "Thank you James" she pouted. I could feel my heart pounding like I was hitting it with a hammer, "this night might have been a bit scary but I had loads of fun. All thanks to you"  she smiled sheepishly and my heart couldn't take it anymore, it felt like I would die right at the spot.

She turned back to the sky "I wish we had this kind of happiness and peace in the past" I saw her blink away tears, the feeling I felt before just sank like it was drowning. I wiped the tear that was about to drop off her face, I wanted to know what she meant but I don't to hurt her in anyway. She turned to me, her eyes watery but yet gave me a faint smile. At this moment I didn't care whether she was drunk or not, or even if she wondered off without telling me. All I wanted to do was to help be her listener.

"I was just seven when she passed away. Her eyes fixed on the stars. "It was just me and dad, it was hard coping after experiencing that grief so we were mostly isolated from everyone else and stayed indoors; dad lost a lot of funds during that period. It was hard, painful, different and difficult" she explained "dad was having a hard time that our business almost went bankrupt. At a point he almost went into depression" her tears over flowed and she started crying, I immediately cupped her hands and held her close to my chest to allow her to cry

I hugged her dearly but gently "It's ok Sophie, you can stop if you're uncomfortable" patting her head softly.

"I will...make...them pay" she murmured against my chest

"Them?" I couldn't help but ask

She clenched her fists and I could feel her pain, Her burden, her fears, her tears; it felt terrible.

I kissed her head softly and continued to pat her gently to calm her down. I would do anything to make her happy, I hated seeing her tears or her in pain.
