Part 33- A disaster of a Dinner

The door opened shortly after I knocked on it, I was pretty excited to see dad, that I was visibly shakin' in excitement.

I heard James' chuckle behind me and shook. "Calm down princess" he held me closer and i giggled to the way he snuggled me.

Dad opened the door with the brightest smile I have even seen with. I let go of James' hand and immediately went to hug him and he chuckled patting my head and holding me close like if he lets go he won't see me again.

"My darling" he breathed resting on my shoulder. "I'm so glad you're here" he lets go of me and looks at me, "I'm fine Dad" I smiled, feeling like a child again. He brushed my hair back like he always did when I was little and held my shoulder but his gaze slowly widen as he looks passed me.

I followed his gaze and realized why his expression.

"Mr... Mayne?"

"Dad." I cleared my throat "This is James" I introduced him to dad, but I'm pretty dad already knew him. Considering he's shocked expression.

James came forward to shake dad "Good evening Mr Andrews.." , but dad just kept on looking at me and back at James confused.

Okay, take a deep breath Sophie.
You can do this...just say it!

"He's my fiance" I bit my bottom lip as I looked at my dad's pale shocked expression.

He turned to look at me "Fiance?" He asked still holding James' hand and I saw as he expression change into something I couldn't understand

"Yep, long story" I smiled nervously, holding their hands. "I taught i could surprise you"

James let go of dad, and dad just kept on staring at James like he had seen a zombie.

"Dad. Snap out of it" I whisper to him.

"Oh.. pardon me. I didn't expect your guest to be...." He looked up at James "your fiance. It is truly a surprise" he chuckled and nodded at James.

He gave a deep breath and smiled, a big smile. "Forgive my manners, please come in". Dad gave way and we both entered the house. I looked around and smiled; nothing changed everything was still there. We went through the hall and into the main living room, i quickly hop unto one of my favorites couches and get myself all snuggled up on it.

"I missed this couch" I sigh happily

Dad chuckled "You're all grown up yet you act like a child".

"It's really good!" I pout. They both chuckled at me and I pouted ever harder. But I was happy they were getting along.

"Honey why didn't you tell me the guests were already here?" I heard a far too familiar voice that made my blood run cold.

I stood up from the couch, and went forward. James and dad also turned to see her

"S- Sophie?!" She gasped almost tipping her own self over as she came down the stairs.

"Hi" I forced a smile and crossed my arms "shocked to see me?". Her eyes further widen as she saw James standing next to me. "Mm...Mr Mayne? Wh- what brings you here?" She stammered as she tried to find her footing.

"Hey what's going- Sis!?" Wyatt stopped in his tracks and just stared at me and James shocked.

"I just thought I could visit" I shrugged with a smile. "And bring along my fiance" I smirked and I could feel James eyes glaring at her, as she looked nervous at him with a nervous smile.

Her eyes looked like they could burst out her sockets. "F...fiance?!"

"Yes." I said proudly "or aren't we welcome?"
