"Who's Queen Lennox?" Finn asked.
Quinn, Santana, and Finn were currently standing outside of the castle, hidden behind some bushes and trees.
"I don't know, but she's up to no good. Why would she want to destroy everything?" Santana wondered.
"Because she clearly wants control over the kingdoms.... Do you think our parents would know who she is?" Quinn said.
Santana shrugged. "Possibly. I guess there's only one way to find out," she said.
The trio ran through the streets, headed back to camp. When they arrived they were all out of breath and frantically looked for their parents. In the distance, they saw their family members, huddled around one another having a conversation.
The trio ran in their direction and almost slammed into everyone when they'd reached the adults.
"Woah, pull the reins on your horse!" Mr. Fabray joked.
The adults' faces soon turned pale when they saw how distraught their children looked.
"What's going on?" Mrs. Puckerman wondered.
"Do any of you know who Queen Lennox is?" Santana asked.
All the parents uneasily looked to one another. If that wasn't enough to put the children on edge, they didn't know what would.
Mrs. Fabray sighed, and patted the ground, gesturing for Quinn, Santana, and Finn to sit.
"Yes, we all know Queen Lennox. She was the previous Queen of our Kingdom, sixteen years ago," Mrs. Fabray said.
"Well, what happened to her? And why haven't we heard about her in our textbooks?" Finn scrunched up his forehead.
"She became sinful. Her powers grew and she let them overpower her. Eventually, things became out of hand and she was demoted of her role. Queen Lennox didn't take it lightly and killed many people trying to fight her way back to royalty. But she had lost all votes. Queen Lennox destroyed everything around her, and eventually, was banished from ours and everyone else's kingdoms. She was sent to live in hell, because everyone believed that's where she belonged- after everything that had taken place. Though she lost her crown here, she had become Queen in the underworld, because everyone down there is sinful, and wants to cause havoc." Mr. Lopez explained.
"Was she nice beforehand?" Quinn asked.
"She was brilliant. Everyone loved her," Mrs. Hudson said.
"Until we didn't," Mr. Puckerman frowned.
Quinn, Santana, and Finn looked at each other. Clearly Queen Lennox was much more dangerous than they'd thought.
Mr. and Mrs. Lopez worryingly locked eyes. Santana and her friends noticed and curiously diverted their full attention to them. Mr. and Mrs. Lopez were hiding something.
"What? Why are you looking at each other like that?" Santana asked.
Mrs. Lopez sighed. "There's more to Queen Lennox then what we're letting on. She may be bad, but she still had a touch of light in her heart," she said.
"How so?" Quinn pressed.
Mr. Lopez shook his head and forced a smile on his face. "That's a conversation for another time," he said.
Quinn, Santana, and Finn got an uneasy feeling. They didn't know what Santana's parents were hiding, but they were determined to find out.
"Well, when is another time?" Santana asked.
"When you're older- when you're all older," Mrs. Lopez said.
The three teenagers impatiently groaned.
"Why are you kids so invested in Queen Lennox, anyway?" Mrs. Hudson raised an eyebrow.
"Because she's the one who's causing the destruction- she's making a return!" Finn exclaimed.
All the parents shifted in their seats. If what their children were telling them was the truth, then they were in a lot more danger than they'd thought.
"Then perhaps it's best we move further. We should move to the furthest kingdom from here, that way Queen Lennox can't hurt us," Mr. Fabray suggested._____
By the next morning, everyone who was transported to FairQuest field were standing in a crowd, surrounding FairQuest's soldiers and King.
"From here on out, you'll be staying in a near by inn. If anything escalates, we'll move you all to a different place. And a different kingdom if need be," King James said.
A civilian raised their hand. King James pointed to them.
"How long are we going to stay in the inn?" He asked.
"I don't know," King James admitted. "But what i do know is, is that you'll be much safer there than you are here."
Everyone in the crowd listened carefully. No one wanted to miss anything that was being said.
"Now, there's not enough rooms for everyone, so people are going to have to form groups. Groups you're comfortable with because you're going to be spending a lot of time with the people you choose," King James informed.
Immediately, the Fabray, Lopez, Hudson, and Puckerman families packed together.
They watched as everyone else searched for their groups. Once the kingdom was sorted, King James and his guards escorted everyone to one near by inn. A small remainder of the group then followed the king and the guards to another inn.
Everyone went to their assigned rooms and sighed with relief when they finally had a roof over their head. But their relief was soon cut short when they saw how small the rooms actually were. Almost everyone would be sleeping on the floor.
"At least we've actually got somewhere to stay," Mrs. Puckerman forced a smile.
Mr. Hudson opened the cabinet and brought out a pile of blankets and pillows.
"You kids can take one bed, and Mr. and Mrs. Puckerman can take the other," he said.
Mr. Puckerman shook his head and refused the offer. There was no way they could take the bed!
"Uh-uh, absolutely not. We'd feel horrible if we took it away from someone else," Mr. Puckerman said.
Mrs. Fabray smiled. "Relax, you guys deserve this bed more then we do. You need to get some good sleep," she said.
Mrs. Puckerman quietly said thank you.
Quinn, Santana, and Finn were seated on their shared bed. They were still on the tips of their toes, wondering what the adults were hiding, and wondering how long it'd take for Queen Lennox to get to them.
Finn then perked up.
"Oh, where's Mrs. Lynn?" He asked.
"She found some family, so she's with them," Mr. Lopez said.
Quinn, Santana, and Finn nodded. While the adults spoke, their children lay back on the bed and quietly spoke amongst each other.
"What do you think they're hiding?" Santana wondered.
"I don't know. Maybe they personally know Queen Lennox?" Quinn shrugged.
"Maybe Queen Lennox is targeting one of our parents!" Finn gasped.
Santana looked to Quinn. "Q, were you able to read my parents' minds earlier? They're the ones who seemed most affected by this," Santana asked.
Quinn shook her head, causing Santana to groan.
As the day went on, the sky became darker. All the adults- aside from Mr. and Mrs. Puckerman, spread out along the floor, on blankets acting as their mattresses. It didn't take long for the adults to fall asleep, leaving Quinn, Santana, and Finn the only ones awake.
"Do we actually think Queen Lennox is targeting all of the kingdoms? If she already has a kingdom of her own, why would she want to expand it further?" Finn asked.
"Power," Quinn yawned. "People like power."
Finn shook his head. "That's not what i mean. What if there's something more behind her reasonings?" He said.
"Yeah, power!" Santana rolled her eyes. "To her, she was betrayed by everyone in her kingdom. She was banished to the underworld years ago. And a king was picked over her- the only queen that's ever been elected! I'd be resentful too, and get my revenge on everyone," Santana said.
"You scare me," Quinn slightly moved away from her friend.
Santana smiled gleefully, before letting out a huge yawn.
"Perhaps we should get some rest, too?" Finn suggested.
One by one, their eyes slowly shut. They all shifted in their positions one last time before they were all finally asleep.| So I'm not actually a fan of this chapter, but it's the best I could do for now |
