"We gotta help Queen Lennox!" Puck shouted.
His friends gave him dirty looks.
"Are you kidding? She kidnapped us!" Finn exclaimed.
Puck stumbled over what he was going to say. There was no way he could actually say why he wanted to help her, or could he? No, not his place.
Quinn exaggeratedly sighed, pulling at the skin underneath her eyes. "Let's just go help her," she bitterly said.
Puck looked at her, and she looked back at him. She gave him an expression that screamed he owed her one. Without even saying a single thing, Puck knew Quinn knew what was going on.
Santana and Finn shockingly looked at both of their friends.
"You guys are delusional," Santana muttered.
Puck smiled, then above his palms, a small water orbit formed. Quinn grew a vine shield. Santana reluctantly set her hands ablaze, while Finn was forced to stick with his lasers.
"To battle!" Puck ordered.
The group charged at the dragon, each shooting it with fire, water, vines, and lasers, trying to deter it, but nothing worked. The dragon hovered over Queen Lennox and David. David stepped back while the dragon huffed in the queen's face. The dragon roared, then lunged forward, mouth wide open. Queen Lennox blocked herself, embracing for the sharp teeth to pierce through her skin. But when nothing happened, she opened her eyes and saw that one giant shield was made out of water, thick vines underneath it.
The shield didn't last long though, but it was long enough for Queen Lennox to gather herself and move away from the dragon. He smashed the shield and began running toward the queen. Queen Lennox grabbed her staff that she'd dropped and shot fire balls at the dragon's eye. This only seemed to have angered him even more.
The group of teenagers ran and stood beside Queen Lennox. She gave them all a scowl. Why on earth were they helping her?
"What in satan's name are you doing?!" Queen Lennox shouted.
"Helping you, what does it look like we're doing?" Santana crossed her arms.
David's dragon stomped his foot onto the ground, and huffed so hard smoke came out of his nostrils.
Grace Shelby and Grace Terri came running as soon as they heard their queen was in great danger.
"Wha- get the kids!" Grace Shelby ordered.
Quinn, Santana, Puck, and Finn all nervously eyed one another. Surely now wasn't a good time to be capturing your escapees, right?
Two men hesitantly began marching their way toward them.
"Leave them! Get inside, now!" Queen Lennox ordered.
The men nodded and ran past Grace Shelby and Grace Terri. The two women reluctantly joined them, leaving their queen and the children to deal with everything on their own.
The dragon roared and blew fire at the group. Puck was able to block it though, with a wall of water. The water boiled and popped, spitting everywhere. The group shielded themselves as droplets of the boiling water splashed onto them.
The fire stopped, and Puck let the water fall onto the ground.
"Just give it up, you're no match for my boy," David called out from behind his dragon.
"I'm gonna feed you to your dragon, dagnabbit!" Santana's arms blazed in fire.
David was appalled by Santana's feisty-ness, but nevertheless, smiled with great pleasure.
The older man clutched tightly onto his whistle and brought it up to his mouth. With one hard blow, the dragon shivered.
"Finish them," he simply ordered.
His dragon stomped his feet, shaking the entire premises. He released one final giant roar then began slashing at the group with his claws.
They all jumped away, and used their magic to keep the dragon away. But he was powerful, and it seemed a lot more powerful than they actually were.
Everyone was forced to continuously jump backwards, and throwing themselves off to the side, to hopefully avoid the claws.
The dragon grew even more frustrated that he wasn't able to land a hit, so he swung himself around and sent the group flying with his long tail. They all collided into each other while crashing to the ground.
They grunted and groaned and used each other for support as they stood to their feet.
"Are you guys okay?!" Finn asked everyone.
"I believe so?" said Quinn.
"Unfortunately," mumbled Santana.
"Always," Puck said.
"Worry about yourself," Queen Lennox sighed.
They all brushed themselves off, and briefly looked over their arms and legs. They were all scraped up, but it wasn't bad enough to pull them out from battle.
"We have to do something really quick, because if we don't, we're going to be a dragons snack!" beads of sweat dripped from Finn's face.
Queen Lennox heavily groaned and stood in front of the children. She held her staff up high, then swung it in a circle, the staff created a giant fire shield that spat balls of fire in the dragon's face.
Puck stood beside her and shot some water balls toward the beast, too. He was nowhere near as powerful as the queen, but he tried his best.
The queen gave him a side glare.
"You're insane," she declared.
"I'm not doing this to help you, i'm doing this for my own good, and for my friends," he furrowed his brows. "Quinn! Start wrapping your vines around the dragon's ankles!" Puck ordered.
Quinn was hesitant, but she stood next to Puck and extended her arms as vines shot from the ground and wrapped themselves around the dragon. The harder Quinn focused, the thicker her vines became.
The giant beast stumbled and fell to the ground. Finn came up from behind and shot a laser net over the dragon.
The dragon fought against the restraint. He cried out, and blew fire toward everyone. Santana jumped forward and without even realising what she was doing, she managed to bend the dragon's fire and throw it back toward the dragon. She was shocked, but not more shocked than her friends. No one knew that that was even possible!
Queen Lennox dropped one arm, and shifted her attention to Santana, her eyes were wide open, and her mouth was virtually hanging open.
"How did you do that?" Queen Lennox asked.
Santana didn't reply. She was petrified, and stood staring at her hands. No one had ever told her that was even something anyone with magic could do, she didn't even know how she'd done it!
The terrified look in Santana's eye physically pained Queen Lennox. She recognised that look a little too well.
She dropped her other arm, and somehow, the fire shield that was still shooting fire balls remained in its place. She moved closer to the young girl and placed a hand on her shoulder, but Santana quickly shoved it off.
The queen sighed understandingly, so instead, she lifted Santana's face and aligned her eyes with hers.
"Don't be scared," Queen Lennox softly spoke.
Santana wanted nothing more than to push the taller woman away, but her voice was so eerily calming that she couldn't push her away.
"What did i do?" Santana asked.
"You controlled the dragon's fire. A very hard move to even concur. I understand the fear you're feeling at the moment, not knowing what had just happened is a scary thing, but i need you to use that power. Every scorching breath the dragon releases, you can use your magic to guide the fire back into the dragon's face."
Santana looked back over to the dragon. He was still doing everything he possibly could to get to the group. The young girl looked back to the queen.
"I don't know what i did.... It just happened," she looked to the queen with desperation in her eyes.
If anyone knew anything about using fire, it was the queen.
"Hurry up you two! We don't have time to chit chat!" Quinn shouted. Her vines were starting to rip out of the ground as the dragon used all of his force to move.
"Just breathe," Queen Lennox told Santana. "Take a deep breath and focus on what you're trying to bend."
Something felt very different about Queen Lennox. For once, she wasn't snickering, or giving everyone a scowl, instead her face's features had softened.
Santana uncertingly nodded and turned to face the dragon.
David stood from afar, though he seemed just as shocked as everyone else, he was much more intrigued by how much everyone struggled to defeat the giant beast.
The dragon lowered his head and began tearing at the vines. Quinn struggled to keep the vines continuously growing.
Finn's laser net wasn't strong enough, and kept disappearing for a few seconds before he magically placed a new one over top.
Puck's water did barely enough to wound the dragon.
Santana exhaled loudly, and as the dragon lifted his head from frustration, he blew a massive flame of fire toward the group. Santana still didn't quite understand what she was doing, but she did as she was told and focused all of her attention onto the fire. She extended her arms, her palms facing the dragon.
The fire flew up into the air out of the dragons mouth, before completely engulfing the dragon in one giant flame.
Queen Lennox turned to face David, he was furious his monster was losing.
She clenched tightly onto her staff and began walking over to him.
Her face was as stern as anything, and it began to turn red.
Maybe a 'small chat' wasn't what she actually had in mind- a lie was just easier to tell people. Darkness was in her eyes.
David's hands blazed in fire. His teeth were showing from the anger and his stance was stiff.
"Give it up, you're already losing," Queen Lennox said as she approached closer.
"I'll show you!" he shouted and shot a gazer of fire toward the queen.
But before it could hit her, she used her staff to block it.
David clenched his jaw tightly.
Queen Lennox hit the bottom of her staff on the ground, causing fire to burst out from the ground and run to David. It surrounded him, and no matter how hard he tried to bend the fire so he could step out of the circle, he wasn't strong enough to do so.
As the seconds passed, the fire edged closer. And the closer it got, the more it began to burn his body.
Queen Lennox walked forward and stepped through her fire. For once, fear struck David. He stepped backwards, but the fire burned his bum, so he was forced to step forward again.
"I've been waiting a long time for this," Queen Lennox grinned.
She used her staff once again, this time she tripped David with it. He fell to the ground, the top of his head hitting the flames around him.
He let out an agonising cry and tried to stand up, but Queen Lennox had quickly jumped onto him and held him down firmly. Her knees were on his wrists, making sure his palms were face down so he couldn't hurt her.
Queen Lennox harshly slapped David across the face, then again, and again. Tears began to well in her eyes, but she didn't let that distract her.
"Get off me you damn woman!" David shouted.
The queen, however, did not listen, but rather she used her hands and created a knife out of her fire.
She held it above her head as she braced herself.
"You're weak- weak i tell ya! You couldn't fight back earlier until you had your staff.... You're useless. I'm glad we sep-" His sentence was cut short when the fire knife collided into his chest.
He gasped, and wheezed. Queen Lennox dug it in deeper and gave it a small twist, ending his life faster.
As the life faded from his eyes, she stood up, the knife that was in him disappeared and the fire surrounding them began to eat David's body.
Queen Lennox turned to face the children, and when she saw that the dragon was practically begging for mercy, she smiled.
"That's enough. The dragon won't be any trouble now," she said.
The children hesitantly stopped attacking the dragon. And as they did, and the vines and net were off of it, it quickly got to its feet and flew away in the underworld. It didn't know where it was going, but it was getting away from everyone who was surely going to kill it.
"Did you get what you wanted?" Puck crossed his arms.
Queen Lennox maintained a soft look. "On the contrary," she said.
Finn was slightly petrified to look at the queen, fearing she would bite his hand off, but he tried his best to look her in the eye.
"Can we all leave now? As in, no more harassment and trauma?" he asked.
"Fine," Queen Lennox used her index finger and gestured for the group to follow her.
As they followed the queen back into the room where the wall had been destroyed, all the people who had been kidnapped were still running around looking for their way out. Sure, where the dragon burst through the ground was a good way to get out, but it was too tall and no one could reach the surface.
Santana looked to her right and gasped when she saw someone familiar. "Mrs. Lynn?!" she exclaimed.
Their head principle was incredibly shocked to see that her ex students helped defeat a dragon.
Queen Lennox stepped away from everyone and pulled a hidden lever. Stairs formed out of the ground and up to the surface. No one wasted any time stalling, they all rushed up the stairs and as far away from the mess as they could possibly get.
"My lord, what did i just witness?"Mrs. Lynn's mouth hung open.
"Yous can leave now. All the destruction will be repaired once the hole closes," Queen Lennox looked to Puck, "Except for the trauma, of course, which i apologise dearly for..... Well, sorta," she grinned.
Quinn, Santana, Finn, and the head principle didn't waste a single second. As soon as they were told they could leave, they were up and out in a heartbeat.
Puck looked to Queen Lennox. "You aren't going to say anything to Sanana?" he asked.
"No... She's got two wonderful parents; she doesn't need to know about me."
The young boy nodded and took a few steps forward before turning around to face the queen. "You know, you're a really bad person, but you're not bad at the same time," he said. "If we do meet again, let's just hope it's a less... Traumatising experience," he smirked.
Queen Lennox smiled. "We'll see. See you around, kid."
Puck walked up the stairs. The cool breeze was enough to remind him that with everything that had happened, he was still alive- somehow.
