"I fuck with this," Persus said, hitting pause on the track as I stepped out of the booth and sat on the couch. "It's different from yo usual shit."
I looked up from my notebook, the pages scattered with lyrics I'd been scribbling. "Different how? Like a good different?"
"It's leaning more towards that R&B hip-hop vibe," Persus explained, adjusting the mix with a thoughtful nod.
"Yeah, I can see that, but it ain't there yet. Missing somethin'," I admitted, doodling absentmindedly.
"For sure," Persus agreed.
"You think the label gonna fuck with this?" I asked.
"Hell yeah, they better," Persus replied confidently. "It fits what you're goin' for-bringing back that old-school 90s and 00s sound for yo album."
"Mhmm, 'cause you know they been kinda ass about finishing this album," I said with a shrug. "But I can't complain. They wanna get started on the rollout."
