Anything by SWV was softly playing throughout the house as I made some lunch. I finally had a day to myself; the past couple of weeks had been non-stop I feel, and I seriously needed a day—or four—to just chill and recuperate.
But I wouldn't change it; I just need to find a balance, and I think I'm doing a good job of finding it. After finishing up the cooking, I plated my lunch and carried it to the living room. Settling onto the couch, I grabbed the remote and began flipping through Netflix, looking for something to watch while I ate.
Just as I settled into the show, my phone buzzed with a notification from the Ring app. "Now who the hell?" I muttered, placing my plate down on the coffee table. I was expecting Keninn and Khalise to stop later to give them their birthday present, but not this early.
Opening the app, I saw my brother Kennin's face pressed up close against the camera, giving it a goofy look singing whatever the hell.
Shaking my head, I got up and opened the door."I thought y'all were still at school?" I asked as I stepped aside to let them both in.
