Ryan: 11 months

It was 2 weeks later. 2 weeks after Jamie and Eddie had risky sex in the back of his car. Eddie was anxiously waiting for her period to arrive, hoping by Monday otherwise...she was pregnant. Jamie knew about the waiting game but didn't show much concern or worry. Eddie was nervous on the inside almost like she knew. She just had a feeling.
——
On Monday morning Jamie started early so he was gone when Eddie woke up. She told herself she'd give it today and if nothing happened she'd go get a test.

She got up to Ryan crying in his crib before her alarm went off. She changed him, and got him in his high chair for breakfast. Poured herself some coffee and no sooner, here comes Alaina out of her room.

"Mommy! You din tell me you making bekfast!" Alaina told her stomping her little feet.

"I always make you breakfast Lainey." She told her, cutting up a waffle for Ryan.

"Would you like a waffle?" She asked her.

"Yes pease." She said and helped herself up to the table.

"Coming right up." She said and popped another in the toaster.

As Eddie was in the mix of making the kids plates up and trying to feed herself she felt something. She felt her period.

"Thank god." She told herself.

Later at the precinct

Jamie didn't get a chance to talk to Eddie this morning, so as soon as roll call was over he called her into his office for a word.

"One sec." Eddie told Rachel to wait outside for her. She closed the door once she got inside Jamie's office.

"Yeah?" She asked.

"So?" He said knowing Eddie knew what he meant he was talking about.

"It's fine."

"So you're not?" He questioned.

"Nope, started bleeding this morning." She said going to leave.

"Well that's good right?" He asked confused by her attitude.

"Yup." She left. Jamie was very confused, did Eddie want another baby? Was she upset she wasn't pregnant?

"Everything okay?" Rachel asked as they walked to the car.

"Oh yeah, Jamie was just asking me about the kids." Eddie made up a random excuse. The truth was, she wasn't sure if it was her period or implantation bleeding. But only time could tell. If it gets heavier it's her period, If it stops...she's pregnant.
——

Her and Witten went about their day just like any other, collared 2 kids robbing a liquor store, broke up a cat fight inside a bridal shop, and even helped and old women to her mailbox.

——
On Eddie's way home she stopped for a test, she noticed the bleeding had almost stopped by this time...so she had a feeling she was in fact pregnant.

When she got home the kids were so excited to see her. She thought to herself "soon it's gonna be 3 running at me."

"They were great today, got to the park before nap-time, ate a picnic style lunch, and they've been playing with blocks since they got up." Henry gave the report.

"Awesome! Sounds like a great day!" Eddie was happy. She could handle another, right?

"Mommy, when daddy come home?" She asked.

"Not until late sweetie, you'll see him tomorrow morning though." Eddie told her.

After Henry left, Eddie got the kids bathed, and ready for bed. They watched a movie together until they fell asleep on the couch. She carried them one at a time to their rooms.

After they were for sure sound asleep for the night she went stood in front of her bathroom mirror looking back at herself, then down at the pregnancy test box. She ripped it open and peed on the stick.

"Cannot believe this..." she said to herself. She got up, flushed and set the test down on the vanity.

While she waited the few minutes she was staring into the mirror at herself but her mind was racing. Was Jamie going to freak? Where would the baby sleep? How will she do being pregnant when Ryan isn't even 1 yet?

She heard Jamie had came home and was in their bedroom.

"Eddie? I'm home. Just didn't wanna scare you" He said through the door.

"Yeah I heard you." She said back and looked at the test. "Pregnant"

"Shit." She said, her eyes filled with tears of joy and fear.

"You okay?" Jamie said hearing her. This couldn't be real, one time, that's all it was. One time without a condom and it happened. "What are the odds" she thought and shook her head.

"Babe?" Jamie was concerned she wasn't answering him.

"Yeah Hold on..." she wiped her tears took a breath and held the test in her hand behind her back before she opened the door.

"Why you crying?" He asked her concerned.

"I'm not." She lied raising her eyebrows at him.

"Yes you were...don't lie to me." He said.

"I lied to you already today." She admitted.

"Eddie what do you mean?"

"Well...honey...turns out it wasn't my period." She said and handed the test over to him.

"No...what!?" He looked at it and then at Eddie with eyes as shocked as she's ever seen them. Eddie shrugged.

"Guess the odds were bad." She said.

"Ha...I'd say. Come here." He held out his arm and brought her in for a hug.

"You okay with all this?" He asked.

"Kinda have to be...are you happy?"

"Of course I'm happy babe, I love you." He said and kissed her forehead as she still was hugging him tightly.
