So sweet

Continuing from the last chapter...

Eddie had just gotten Alaina down to sleep, Jamie was in the shower and Eddie went straight to bed. She was still irritated with the whole Sydney thing with Erin and him he saw earlier today.

Jamie came out of the bathroom and turned the light on to get dressed.

"Really?" Eddie said annoyed.

"It's 8:30, your really going to bed?" Jamie asked confused.

"Yup." She said.

"C'mon Janko. We gotta talk about this. I promise it was nothing. Erin and her work together in the same building. There working a case that I made an arrest on. They had some questions. That's all." Jaime said getting dressed.

"What case?" Eddie asked still laying in bed facing away from him.

"...The Jake Singer case." Jamie finally said. Eddie stared for a second at nothing and then sat up.

"What...?" Eddie asked.

"I know." Jaime said calmly.

"So what she's trying to get him out sooner!?" She asked.

"Eddie. You know she's a defense attorney. He hired her." Jamie said.

"Probably cause he knows the relationship!" Eddie said.

"Probably yeah." Jamie agreed.

"So even locked away he's still messing with me!? And I mean your ex fiancé probably just loves this!" Eddie was mad.

"Eddie don't go there. They know everything he did. I went into more detail, that's what I was talking about with them. Don't worry." Jamie assured her and got into bed.

"Unbelievable. If he gets out or any of them get out I'm going to lose my mind." Eddie said.

"They won't. Erin almost guaranteed that." Jamie told her. Eddie shook her head still in surprise and laid down.

"Hey..." Jamie snuggled up to her and ran his hand over his little boy in her belly.

"I promise I'll always protect you and our kids babe." He told her.

"I know." She responded and held her hand over his.

"Ugh." Eddie grunted and moved her body to get comfortable.

"Whats wrong?" Jamie asked concerned at her wincing face.

"I don't know. He's just pushing everything around. And my back..." Eddie sat up in bed.

"So it's not like labor right?" Jaime asked.

"Ha! God no, 3 months yet Reagan!" Eddie said laughing at his thought.

"I know...still..." he told her.

"Dada! Dada da..." Alaina said over the monitor.

"Huh...I sang to her, I gave her more milk..." Eddie was grumpy and got out of bed.

"I'll get her Eddie..." Jamie got out of bed faster then her and made her lay down.

"Dada..." Alaina started to cry over the monitor as Jamie reached the door.

"Hey...what's the matter...?" Jamie asked Alaina calmly as he entered her room. Eddie sat up in bed and listened to him.

"Was it all that sugar?" He asked and picked her up. He sat down in the glider chair with her. She cuddled into Jamie and laid her head on his chest.

"Go to sleep honey, mommy was so happy she got you down finally..." Jamie rubbed her back and said. He thought about what Eddie had said she did...he didn't want to give her more milk...he was rocking her. The only thing he wasn't doing was singing to her.

He took a breath and started humming a song Eddie sings to her. Alaina picked her head up and looked at Jamie, heavy eyes, sucking on a binky, a little snot running down to her lip. Jamie didn't stop, he looked at her and then started singing the words softly to her. She laid her head back on his chest and slowly started to drift off to sleep again.

After about 10 minutes he knew she was out, he got up and gently laid her down in her crib. He then quietly left the room, leaving the door cracked behind him and heading back to bed.

"Jamie..." Eddie said blushing with a smile, she stood up from the bed and wanted a hug.

"Hm?" He asked confused at her mood.

"That was so sweet honey..." she told him and kissed his cheek as she let go of their embrace.

"Aww c'mon...you were listening!?" He said embarrassed and walked off to his side of the bed.

"Of course I was! I didn't know you sang to her!" Eddie said still so swoon.

"I don't really. That was like the first time." Jamie told her getting into bed. She was making him feel weird, he's such a tough guy and she was pointing out the soft side he has.

"Your the cutest, I love you!" Eddie said and laid down with him.

"I love you too." He said smiling and they went to bed.

So Sydney is around but for work, not personal. Eddie knows she has nothing to worry about after seeing how sweet Jamie is with their little girl. No matter what happens you can't break their family apart!
