Chapter Nine - It's in your head.

"Okay, I see this big buddle thing. Is that what you were talking about?" Billy's voice breaks in and out of the other end of the radio. "Yes, that's it now with your knife, pop it", Hopper talks clearly. "What knife?" Billy asks Hopper over his games. Even in times like this, Billy has to have the upper hand.

"I know you have a knife, Billy, okay just.." "Alright, here goes." The radio goes static, and a cloud of black smoke bellows out of the trailer windows, El opens the trailer door, and Hopper pushes past all the kids to get to her "El!" El walks slowly inside, and Hopper after her; we all hurry inside the trailer.

It's an unassuming trailer, old but ordinary, the old orange carpet and laminate floors, a broken tv in the centre, and a table and chairs on the way to the kitchen. I look inside, moving through the trailer and going inside every room. "Billy!" I call out. Max looks through all the rooms.

"He's not here she calls out, "Hopper, where is he? He's not here!" I rush up to Him; Hopper looks around. "Hey, you okay? Mike asks Will. His face has gone pale, and he looks like he's seen a ghost, "Yeah, yeah, I just felt... Will is cut off when we hear something outside.

Steves's car speeds stopping inches away from the trailer. We all rush out to see him. "Get in; I've found something." We pile in the cars and follow him. I sit shotgun with Steve. "Billy didn't come back out," I tell him. "Oh, he will just not there, not inside that trailer."

At the old abandoned factory Billy was once dragged into. We stand with flashlights in our hands; looking around, we all look at Steve, confused as to why we're here. "He's not here, Steve; what is this?"

"He's here, we just can't see him; when I was driving, when you guys released whatever was in that trailer, I felt it" Steve sounds nervous as he speaks " I was in the upside down, but I blinked, and I was back.

Will chimes in, "Me too, it took me back to the same place" Nancy nods. "Me too for a second, I was back in the forest, back in the upside down."

Everyone looks around, nodding like they have all had the same experience when Steve explains himself. "Well it made me think if we all went back for a moment what if Billy is really back there and it would have spat him out in the place he was taken hence the factory", Steve gestures around him. "So what do we do?" I ask, but before anyone answers, El steps forward. "We open the gate."

El tells us what to get, and we all run around finding things. I head out to Steves's car with him as he looks through the trunk, and I look inside the back seat, he slams it shut, not finding anything.

"Steve, thanks for helping," I say as I grab a few things from his car; he nods his head, puts his hands in his pocket he goes to walk away. "Wait, Steve, I'm sorry I wanted to tell you, I was scared I know you hate him and I didn't want you to hate me too."

Steve sighs. "I just don't get it why him?"

"I don't know why Nancy?" I say, not too loud Steve shakes his head.

"That's not the same, Nancy isn't Billy, Y/n his going to hurt you."

I shrug "yeah, maybe Steve, and if he does, I need to know your still here, you're still my friend?" Steve doesn't look at me and takes a few steps away. "I don't know if I can."

El sits on the floor blindfolded, the boys all switch their radios to static.

We all stand around her in silence. "I can see him," El says. Max and I look relieved until El frowns. "Something is wrong; the gate is right there. He can pass right through it, and he should come out there." El points down the stairs Hopper, Steve, and I run down to the basement of the factory, and the small open gate is right there.
