Where We Really Come From

The monster stood ahead of them, black and blue energy seeping off of it in great billows of smoke. The monster looked like it was supposed to resemble a glion, a gentle, rainbow colored version of a Wishling lion, but it was all off. It was way too big for one thing and it's teeth resembled sharp daggers, far sharper than a glion or even a Wishling lion for that matter. The creature stared, it's cold, black eyes burning into the teens ahead of them.

"Selene Liara of House Liara, Skye Volill of House Volill, Juno Sabe of House Sabe, Vela Allana of House Allana, Callisto Azan of House Azan, Estella Rosneath of House Rosneath, Lyra Vorian of House Vorian, Rhea Najan of House Najan, Faye and Nova Galdina of House Galdina, Halo Galzar of House Galzar and Maia Soala of House Soala, you are fugitives of The Adirian Empire and Empress Adira has created me to bring you in." The negative energy monster stated.

Marcus, Sally, Mindy and Jack's mouths fell agape in shock. Halo, Maia and Skye had all paled. Vela, Selene and Estella had looks of shock and fear on their faces. Faye had pushed Nova behind her, protectively while Juno was trembling with fear. Rhea and Lyra both looked afraid. Callisto meanwhile, sneered at the creature.

"She's named it what?!" Callisto yelled, outraged at the new name of her kingdom. The creature spoke again, ignoring Callisto.

"Surrender peacefully and Empress Adira may see it fit to grant you mercy." The creature said. Now Selene was outraged.

"Mercy?! Did she grant us mercy when she attacked our homes and chased us from our school? Was that mercy?" Selene yelled. The creature glared.

"The Great Empress is not beholden to your feeble sensibilities." The creature said. Juno barked out a humorless laugh.

"The Great Empress? Is that what she's calling herself?" Juno asked. "How pretentious." The other girls looked at Juno as if to say, "You'd probably name yourself that if you ever became queen."

The creature narrowed its eyes.

"You will come with me. You will not be asked again. I was given orders to bring you in with force if necessary." The creature said. Callisto narrowed her eyes at the creature.

"We're not going anywhere with you. And we're certainly not going back to that madwoman." Callisto said. All the girls nodded in agreement. The creature stood still, taking stock of them.

"Very well." The creature then suddenly split into eleven more versions of itself, each as imposing and terrifying as the original.

"Capture them! But try not to hurt them too much. After all, Empress Adira wants to to take care of them herself." The twelve negative energy monsters lunged, negative energy billowing behind them as if it were smoke.

"RUN!!" Selene screamed, grabbing Estella and the still shocked Sally's hands and dragging them after her. Rhea grabbed Marcus and pulled him after her while Lyra got Jack. Callisto groaned as she yanked Mindy after her. The girls pulled their Wishling companions after them as they fled from the negative energy monsters, leaping fences and dodging lawn obstacles. The monsters chased behind them, shrieking and growling as they tried to swipe at them. Sally shook herself out of her stupor and spoke up.

"There's a woods near here! It's pretty big! We should be able to lose whatever the hell those things are in there!" Sally yelled.

"Where is it?" Vela asked. Sally pointed ahead of them.

"Follow me! I know the way!" Sally yelled, letting go of Selene's hand to lead the way. Everyone followed Sally over the terrain of the neighborhood as she led them past houses and streets. She turned off a path and led everyone into a heavily wooded area.
