"Stings doesn't it?" Damon asks seeing the hunter in pain on his knees with arrows shot into him attached to a bomb. The hunter tries to reach for a gun but Nik and I speed out from our places and I kick it away. "Hello, mate." Nik says and both he and Damon grin. Ever since the incidents hunters have left a horrible taste in my mouth the only one I liked was Ric and that was only cause his bark was larger than his bite when it came to myself or Damon. The hunter begins to try and pull the arrows out but I tsk at him catching his attention. "You're gonna hurt yourself there Elmer Fudd. Might have to wash hunter guts out of my hair." I mock. "You three are going to kill me anyway." He says and I tilt my head in fake sympathy. "Oh don't be so sure. First we have to find out who you are, what you want and then maybe I can use you as a chew toy next full moon." I say and Nik hums in agreement. "Yes, let's not be too hasty. We are just getting to know each other!" He says wrapping his arms around my hips. "Aren't wolves and vampires suppose to hate each other? You know that war between species?" The hunter tries but I only smirk. "That's close-minded babble. Besides I'm not your average wolf." I say shinning my red/ gold eyes the hunter raises a brow and looks me up and down as if to make sure I was real.
"Let's start with the basics. Where are you from? What do you know? Maybe you can cue me in on this "greater evil," because I've fought this guy" Damon says pointing to Nik and handing over a paper. "And there's nothing more evil than that." He finishes making me roll my eyes. "He's not that bad." I object lazily. "Truth be told, love, I'm as evil as it gets." Nik says to me with a grin taking the paper Damon was holding out to us. I look at the hunter and shrug. "He's hot so I let it slide." I remark seeing my casual approach to Nik's 'evilness' making him angry. "I'm not telling you anything. And... if you think if you kill me, it's gonna be over... there's another waiting to take my place." The hunter warns looking at each of us but keeping his eyes on me last. "See, this is what I like to hear; vague threats, ominous prophecies, disappearing tattoos." Damon says making Nik and I stop smirking and share a look. "What tattoo?" I murmer looking at the skin the hunter currently has exposed and seeing nothing. "Don't bother, Cherry, can't see the damn thing." Damon says and Nik leaves my side to kneel down next to the hunter. "There's more to you than meets the eye, isn't there?" He says and in a swift motion the hunter attempts to stake him but Nik catches his arm. "Nice try, but I'm faster than your average vampire." Nik says taking the stake and observing the carving on its end. Nik and I both recognize it, I had a dream about their time with The Five and I remember what happened to Nik after he killed all of them. Them haunting him enough to make him want to die, it was torture. "You're one of The Five." I said under my breath. "The what?" Damon asked but I saw the hunter about to pull on the cord connected to the bomb. "And I'm faster than your average hunter." He says. "Nik, Damon run!" I scream just as he's pulling the cord I feel an arm around me and I close my eyes hearing a loud boom and fast winds before I'm set down on my feet.
I look around and see Nik placing the unconscious hunter down on a couch in some trailer. "What happened?" I ask as Nik finishes setting down the hunter and checks his phone ignoring the call. "The hospital exploded and I just found a way to make more hybrids." He said before grabbing my arm and walking us out of the trailer. "Baby you don't need more hybrids. We just need to get rid of this hunter without the curse affecting anyone and we can leave here and go wherever we want, Nik. I'll turn and you will have me forever, isn't that what you want?" I ask him and see him pause before turning to me and holding my face in his hands. "Of course I want you forever but I need to protect you and our family. An army so you won't fall victim to my enemies." He says making me sigh. "I don't need an army I need you and our family. Sired hybrids are not the answer Nik. You don't need them." I say going to grab his wrists but he removes his hands and grabs me and speeds us to another location were we walk into a room with a worried Stefan and a seemingly dying Elena. "Ouch, she's looked prettier." I comment but it goes ignored. "You came." Stefan said with relief. "I did. And for future reference one voicemail is just as effective as nine." Nik says annoyed making me smirk despite how our last conversation was a bit tense. We hear Elena moan in pain and look over. "What happened to her?" I ask and Stefan speaks up. "she has werewolf venom in her system and we all know your soulmate is the only one that can heal her. So please Klaus, help her." Stefan says directing his words at me then Nik. "Damn, imagine if Nik weren't here? If you and your friends plan had worked and Nik was no longer around to heal precious helpless little Elena? Should we explore that scenario for a moment?" I ask getting in Stefans face, practically feeling Nik's pride at my response.
Stefan's jaw tightens as he looks me in the eye before he shifts his gaze to Nik. "Whatever you want from me-." "We don't want anything from you." I say definitively. " Nik walks over to Elena and sits on the bed next to her. " Her, on the other hand...If you had told me a few hours ago, I wouldn't have cared a lick about her dying. But, as it turns out..." He says before biting his wrist. "You may be of use to me after all." He smirks placing his wrist to her mouth to let her drink his blood and a become angry, not because he's healing her but because he still is chasing this hybrid idea. Once we were walking out of the house and Nik went to grab my hand I squeezed his hand and let it go. "I'll see you at home." I said. "Are you angry with me?" He asks and I sigh turning to face him. "Honestly? Kind of! You're chasing this hybrid idea and I understand it's what you wanted for a thousand years but so am I! Nik this obsession with them has put you through so much bull shit and with this hunter I can only feel it will put us through more but you don't care!" I say in exasperation. " I do care why do you think I want the bloody hybrids in the first place!" He screams at me. " You wanted hybrids so that you wouldn't be alone forever but now you have me here willing and wanting nothing more than to be by your side but you still want those fucking hybrids! What will it take for you end the obsession?!" I ask and we merely looks at me not saying anything and I scoff turning away from him and starting my walk home. "I'll see you when you get home. I love you." I say walking away and I hear a faint 'I love you too' before I speed home. This day has been quite the rager.
