"Why is the snowflake in the dark and lonely?" Ally asked as she watched Nik paint. "Not everything about the holiday season is joyful, love." He said as he continued with his work. "Do you still feel that way? Dark and lonely? Even after this morning?" Ally asked kissing Nik's back. "Oh, darling this morning left me only wanting more. However it seems a thousand years without you has left a permanent darkness." He said setting down his paints. "Mmm. Well, perhaps I can satiate your needs and add a little more light to your darkness." Ally said as Nik turned around and kissed her softly. "I really should start knocking." Stefan's voice sounded from the doorway. "And yet..." Nik says making Ally grin. "Hello, Steffie." Ally teases as a hybrid, Adrian, walks by. "Adrian! Dear, can you take this lovely painting to Mystic Grill, please?" She asked and Adrian nodded with a smile. "It is still drying so please be careful." She reminded. "Of course, Aurelia." Adrian said and made his way out with the painting. 

"Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, you know." Stefan said. "You'd know a lot about slaves wouldn't you, Salvatore?" Ally shot back at him. "Elena is sired to Damon." Stefan said with annoyance in his tone. "We figured." Niklaus said keeping his arms around Ally. "Which means I need the cure now more than ever and you're here making out with your girlfriend and painting snowflakes." Stefan complained.  "And Nik has delivered. He got the sword excavated from Italy which we use with the hunters mark to find the cure. You now have to hold up your end and get Jeremy hunting. Turn some criminals and carry out justice in a more efficient way." Ally said as Nik rested his head on top of hers. "Thing is we can't stop Jeremy from killing us." Stefan added a new problem into the mix. "Sounds like a chore. Luckily for you I feel like doing a bit of charity work." Nik says tapping Ally's ass as an 'excuse me' and walking Stefan out of the room. 

Meanwhile Caroline had been distancing herself from Tyler and his obsession with revenge on Klaus since Ally dropped his limp body off to her with a play by play on her kidnapping. She wanted to let Ally be happy and have her own happiness but Tyler just couldn't let the whole Klaus thing go and it was starting to take a toll on their relationship. "Caroline!" She heard Tyler say to her as she was walking to the Grill. "I don't have time right now, Tyler. I still need to organize some last minute things for the Winter Wonderland event. " She tried to shrug him off but he wasn't having it as he turned her around and gently had her face him. "Care, I we have a new plan." Tyler says and Caroline shrugs him off. "We? You mean you and that Hayley girl! Her own sister doesn't even go along with her plans so why are you!" Caroline complains and it was true. Kristie had stayed away from her sister since the whole ordeal and she would hang out with  Ally and Caroline whilst avoiding her twin. Kristie was actually helping Caroline set up at the Grill  as Tyler stopped her. 

" Because then he will finally be gone! Look, Hayley knows a witch who can body jump. You know, Klaus' favorite trick." Tyler starts making Caroline scoff as she starts walking away again. "All the un sired hybrids put him in a body and encase him in concrete dumping him at the bottom of the ocean!" Tyler explains. "Tyler!" Caroline starts with annoyance. "He's not a bad guy! When was the last time he did anything to me or you? Or anyone? He turned you and when our friends were trying to kill him he defended himself and his family! You didn't have to leave Mystic Falls to break the sire bond, you chose that! You chose to sleep with some wolf girl in the mountains and fuck our relationship up and I had to hear about it from Ally and Kristie!" Caroline said and in that moment she was tired of her whole relationship. "Either you quit this stale revenge plot or we are done. For good." Caroline said marching away and texting her dearest red head about what Tyler was planning. Even if her love life was on the mend it didn't mean her favorite couple had to suffer as well. 

Once the Winter Wonderland event had started Kristie and Caroline were on edge. They had been going between calls with Ally and Bonnie to stop this crazy plan Tyler has. Ally has been keeping the plan from Nik until it is absolutely necessary to try and tame any mass murder tendencies in her soulmate. She was furious that the hybrids had disobeyed her orders but she was coming up with a plan to resolve their defiance issues. Nik of course has noticed his soulmates peculiar behavior and slowly his paranoia is getting the better of him. Though this time; it's in a way justified. "Love? Anything you want to tell me?" He asks, giving her a chance to come clean. "No, it's just Caroline freaking out over the little details of the event. Nothing crazy." She says as she was texting on her phone then she looked around seeing if the hybrid ,Adrian, was still following them and he was. Nik noticed Adrian as well but still kept himself in control. A control that will vanish the moment everything is revealed.
