Author's POV
The Next Morning (10:00 AM)
The ticking of the clock was the only sound which harmonised with his heartbeat in the silent hallway of the clinic. It was the next morning when Vihaan rushed to the 'Mehra Therapy Centre' for his appointment. Sitting through the wedding, even though it was his dear brother's, brought back memories that were both the best and worst parts of his past. He was restless all the time once he reached home, feeling a sudden panic, ache and pain making him break things all over and sit in a corner the whole night. The first thing he did the next morning was rush to the clinic for his peace and his wait of the long aloof night was going to be over.
He knew he was the first appointment of the day, but she still wasn't there. Regardless of her fault, as he was one hour early to the clinic while she usually comes at 10 every morning. He sighed leaning his head back on the wall after checking the time on his wristwatch.
She'll be here anytime soon Vihaan. Just hang in there.
Between consoling himself, he heard a nurse say, "Mr Vihaan Sehgal, please go in. Dr Mehra is waiting for you."
As if on a spring, he jumped up and sprinted inside the room opening it urgently despite his shaking hands and frame. The doctor was startled at the sudden entrance, even though she was waiting for him knowing he was her first patient for the day.
She gave him a once over noticing even the slightest details without him knowing she read him, he was looking like a storm ran over him. Hair unkempt, shaking frame, dark circles under his eyes were enough to convey the sleepless night he had, and the way his face reflected a certain desperation for something. Someone else must have thought of her as a creep in reading a person like this but this was her job. She was a psychologist, and reading the body languages of her patients were her pre-requisites before tending to them.
