Author's POV

5 years later

"Ammi, aap kuch khaa kyu nhi rhi?" EshAra's 3½ years old son asked his mother cutely making his mother smile at him. Then not even giving her time to reply, he asked again, "Nanu aur Nani bhi kuch nhi khaa rhe. Kyu?"

They were currently in Siddiqui's house due to Elara's Roza. Elara smiled happily at her adorable son who was a carbon copy of his father and said, "Kyunki ham sab ka roza hai meri jaan. Jab shaam ko roza pura hoga, tb ham teeno hi kuch khaenge."

Little Ekansh was enamoured with the concept, he then sat with his mother who briefly explained him the significance of this divine ritual they religiously followed

Little Ekansh was enamoured with the concept, he then sat with his mother who briefly explained him the significance of this divine ritual they religiously followed. Ekansh asked cutely, "Main bhi roza rakh sakta hun kya?"

Elara giggled and said, "Zarur, par abhi aap chote ho. Jab aap thode se aur bade ho jayoge tab aap roze rkh lena. Thik hai?"

Ekansh pouted making her pull his cheeks and say, "To kya hua aap roza nahi rakh skte to? Abhi shaam ko nanu Asr ki namaz padhne mazjid jayenge na, aap bhi unke sath chale jaana."

Ekansh's eyes lit up and he readily agreed, that is when Eshaan entered the dining room with his father-in-law and asked ruffling the hair of his beloved son, "Kya gappe lada rhe hain maa bete?"

To which Ekansh told his father excitedly, "Dadda, ammi ne kha hai jab main badha ho jaunga, main bhi roze rakh sakta hun."

Eshaan and Jawed both mirrored his excitement and Eshaan said, "Wow champ!"

They both high-fived and Eshaan made Ekansh sit on his lap when Elara gave him a plate to feed Ekansh. Eshaan made his son eat, himself refraining from consuming anything during Roza's of his wife, for the last five years. Similarly, Elara fasted during Navratri alongside Eshaan, along with fasting for him on Teej and Karwachauth as well. The beautiful religious blend of their love and lives always amused their families, especially how well they balanced it even in their son who knew how to offer prayers to the Shivling and recite Gayatri Mantra daily as well as offer Namaz.
