She was sitting on the floor, surrounded by a cage. Lit torches were the only source of light. She looked down at her hands that were covered in blood. "What have I done..." she whispered trying to get hold of herself. She could not give in now, she had to fight. She had to set herself free but... she could feel her powers grow weaker the more she stayed there. But how did she get there, she did not remember. After losing the battle against her inner darkness, the entire world went black for her. She could remember glimpses of her actions, a mix of fire, blood, and screams. How? Why?... she knew why... the pain was still there, yet more tame than before. The one she trusted the most... betrayed her
Rosemarie woke up early in the morning, but she did not move. She laid there staring at the ceiling. The dream was short, but she could not help but feel her own heart break. She felt like she had a big puzzle in front of her, but all she had were a few pieces while the rest was missing.
She finally managed to get herself up and put on a pair of joggers and a black t-shirt. She did not feel like going anywhere. She walked downstairs and into the kitchen. After making herself coffee she sat on the couch in the living room and staired into nothing.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. She got up and set the mug on the small coffee table that resided next to the couch. She walked to the door and opened it.
"Oh..." she mumbled when she saw Leo standing there. He was visibly annoyed.
"Hello to you too. Where is your phone?" Phone, she did not remember to have any phone.
"Hmmm? What phone?" she asked a little bit confused.
"The one I got you for Christmas? You know, to be able to reach you and I dunno make you socialize more?!" he said exasperated.
She let him enter and closed the door before leaning against the wall thinking "I have no idea where that is." She said like it was nothing.
Leo tried to calm himself before speaking again. He was worried about his sister, but her carelessness made him angry. What he did not expect was to see the bracelet that she was wearing. "Where did you get that?" he asked pointing at it.
"A friend gave it to me" she lied and shook her head.
"Where did you last see the phone?" he asked trying to first solve the initial issue that he came for.
"Look, I think last week... took it in the kitchen when I made myself something to eat and that was kinda it. Feel free to look for it." She said and gestured him to go away. She walked back to the couch and sat down. She was not in the mood to deal with him today.
Leo walked into the kitchen and started to open every drawer and cabinet he had in sight. Nothing. He then moved his attention to jars and boxes. Nothing. There was one last place he did not look. "It better not be in..." He said annoyed while he opened the fridge's door, and there it was, on the middle shelf the phone was chilling. He took the phone and walked into the living room.
"In the fridge? Really?" he asked a little amazed and a little frustrated. "You're a mess."
"Yah, you love me tho..." she mumbled and sipped from her coffee making an innocent face.
Leo handed her the phone and shook his head. "Charge it, and make sure to not cook it next time." He said and then looked around. That was when he noticed the mud trail going from the front door and a little up the stairs. "What did you do?"
She looked at what he was pointing. "I went hiking?"
"In a mud puddle?"
She stood silent a bit and sighed "Do you think the ground dries so far after the snow melts?"
