Rose was sitting on the floor, in the middle of the kitchen trying to ignore any light that came her way. She planned to cover the windows with cardboard just to turn every room into a complete darkness. The reason? A splitting headache after her last night. Although the details are few and she remembered almost everything, she had no idea how she ended up falling asleep, hugging an empty bottle.
Isis was watching the scene and she did not know if she should feel pity or be amused.
"I am staying at home today..." she mumbled, the sound of her own voice annoying her. She was still at the first coffee, but she felt like she needed an entire IV filled with caffeine.
"So, for toda..." Isis tried to speak but was stopped by Rose's hand pushing her face away. The cat sighed and moved somewhere where she could not be reached. "As I was saying, today we have things to do."
"No... I wanna lay here." Rose said as she laid on the cold tiles that covered the floor.
"I will scratch you again if you don't move." She warned already having her claws out.
Rose lifted her hands in defeat and got back up in a sitting position. She felt like even if she tried, there was no chance that she would win an argument with the cat. "Fine..." she groaned. "...I drink coffee first and then we go." She added and lifted the mug.
"You must bring a shovel, a sledgehammer and rope." The cat said and started to wash her paw like nothing happened.
Rose looked at her with a confused face. "For what?"
"Digging, breaking stuff, making sure you don't get lost... OH! And a lantern. You know one of those that you can also set on the ground."
"I'll have to see if I have?" Rose said not knowing if she had something like that in the house. She was not even sure where she could go to buy those. "And where are we going exactly?"
"And a pair of scissors, yes, like those that people use to cut vines and plants with." The cat continued, completely ignoring the other's questions.
"You know, most items do make sense when you put them together but the sledgehammer?" Rose tried again to get some answers
"You'll see." The cat said and walked away. "Hurry up!" she added before vanishing into the other room.
"HOW AM I EVEN GONNA CARRY THOSE?!" Rose yelled and she only felt like her headache got worse. She got up and started to look for some ibuprofen, gladly it did not take long for her to find some. A short while after she gave a sigh of relief as the headache started to slowly let her go from its grasp.
"So why are we doing this again?" she asked the cat while she rummaged through the storage closed. She found most of the things she needed already, except for the scissors. Her parents were not fans of gardening. Their back yard used to be maintained by the guy that also owned the only flower shop in town. A garden that was once beautiful, now it was abandoned.
"I assumed you wanted to learn more; this will be a beginning." Isis said relaxed.
"You said that I have to die." Rose said and stopped from her search; she realized it was useless. "I can't find the scissors, I guess we will have to manage without." She said and pulled out a backpack that was good for camping trips.
"Well, I did say that, but you will not die die... look is complicated. I don't know how to properly explain it."
"Let's just deal with what we have now." The girl replied not wanting to think about what might happen next. To her amazement everything fit in the backpack, except for the shovel. "This will bring me some looks." She mumbled as she walked to the door.
