Chapter 42

*a week later*

My phone started ringing just after I got out of Jims car and I was walking toward the apartment after work. I looked at my phone at it was Amber.

Me: hey amber. What's up?
Amber: are you at the apartments yet?
Me: yup. Just got here. Why?
Amber: I'm on my way, I'll tell you more when I get there.
Me: ok.... See ya.

She hung up... Hmmm... That was a little strange.... Well, at least there's only 3 days until my birthday! This week of work hasn't been that hard, well it usually wouldn't be for a normal person but I am not fit or athletic so it was tiring for me. When I get inside I'm going to text Lew. So I walked to the building and I walked inside and set all of my stuff down. Ugh I forgot Miya was here, I have to bring her outside and get her food and water.

After I was done with that I plopped down on the couch and I dialed Lew's number to call him instead of texting him because my fingers are tired right now. So it rang a few times then he answered.

Lew: hello?
Me: hey boo
Lew: what's up baby?
Me: just got home from work. I'm so tired.
Lew: can I come over?
Me: of course
Lew: ok. I'm on my way.
Me: ok. I'll see you when you get here. Love you.
Lew: ok love you too. Bye.
Me: bye.

I hung up. Miya jumped onto the couch and she climbed to my face and she licked me until I couldn't breathe. Just then there was a knock at the door. I was holding Miya when I answered the door so she didn't run outside. It was Amber that knocked on the door.

"Hey Amber." I said.

"Hey Heather." She said.

"Ok what is it?" I asked.

"Put Miya in the room and come with me" she told me, I put Miya in my moms old room and I closed the door, she has food and water in there, she also has a little spot where she can go to the bathroom. So I put her in there and I closed the door then I went out with Amber.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Down here." She told me.

"These are empty. No one lives here." I told her as we went to one of the apartments that are on the floor below mine.

"Someone does now!" Amber exclaimed as she opened the door and I saw Ambers mom, sister, and her dog. they had all of their stuff up in the apartment. It was the one right below my apartment.

"Oh my gosh!! Yaay!!! You live in the apartment right below mine now?!" I exclaimed.

"Yes. That's what I wanted to show you. You've noticed that I haven't been in school while you were there this past week?" She asked.

"Yea, wait, you spent this week moving? That's why you haven't been in school?" I asked.

"Yes." She told me.

"Wow." Right after I said that someone came up behind me and touched my arms and I screamed and I probably jumped about a few feet in the air.
