Chapter 30

Looking down at the girl who somehow had managed to summon him, even though Y/n wasn't sure that that was even possible, the Overlord bent down to pick up the book that layed at her knee.

Humming he opened the page that the girl had folded one of the corners of.

Y/n: "You are quiet the interesting child. Tell me why have you summoned me?" Y/n spoke while he began to read through the text. It was part of a novel and the main character just used the typical demon summoning ritual in hopes to be able to bring back his loved one from death.

Girl: "My mommy was killed by a bad man. I want her back. Please bring me back my mommy." The girl begged, crying.

Y/n: "Have you finished reading this book?" Y/n asked as he turned the pages once more. It was clear that instead of getting his loved one back she was turned into a demon and now the two must find a way to break the curse put upon the main character. 

The girl nodded.

Y/n: "If so, are you sure you want to risk getting cursed and for your mother to become a monster?"

Girl: "I don't want to stay with the bad man. I beg of you. Please."

Y/n hated kids. They were too emotional, too loud and often got on his nerves. Much like the girl in front of him. 

Oh how much he wished he could just kill her, but for whatever reason his body would not obey his command whenever he thought about hurting her. It must be a side effect of having been summoned.

With a sigh Y/n snapped his fingers to clean the room and the girl from all the blood.

Y/n: "State your name." He ordered.

Mika: "Mika Yel." She said, while rubbing her eyes.

Y/n: "I am Deamonius and I am offering you a deal. Form a pact with me and I shall reunite you and your mother." The wording was important and Y/n knew that.

Mika: "What would I have to give you?" Mika asked a bit scared.

Y/n: "Since I will offset the balance of life and death I will need to bring back balance. A life for a life." Y/n began. "Kill this 'bad man' and you will be able to hug your mother once more." He went into his inventory and retrieved a random dagger he had lying around and a Message Scroll. "Use this dagger to pierce his heart and once you are done tear this paper in half, while thinking about my name. Once you do that you will be able to talk to me and I will come to you to complete my side of the pact."

With shaking hands Mika grabbed the two items and looked back at him. Y/n was holding out his hand.

Y/n: "Shake my hand and the pact will be completed." There was a moment of hesitation, but in the end the longing in the girls heart won and the two shook hands. "I will be off now, good luck dear Mika." Putting the book into his inventory Y/n opened a Gate back to Narberal. Looking at the maid Y/n let out an anoyed sigh, which caused Narberal to become nervous. He threw the book onto his desk and angrily pointed at it. "This book, describes a concept that should not exist in this world."

Letting himself fall into his office chair Y/n tried to calm his growing anger.

Y/n: "Could you please fetch me a drink? The higher percentage of alcohol the better." Nerberal bowed and left without another word. Activating a Message spell with Raven and Junior Y/n called the two into his office while opening a Gate. Not a second later Raven flew through the portal in her bird form, transforming right back and kneeling down. Junior followed shortly after. "Find a copy of this book and find out as much about the author as possible, if the person is still alive bring them to me." Y/n ordered Junior before turning to Raven. "A few minutes ago I was summoned in a Demon Summoning Ritual performed by a little girl called Mika Yel. She must be a in small settlement in Vale. My guess is near the border to Vacou. Find her and follow her, report back anything you might consider of interest to me."
