Chapter 10

The room was filled with chatter as Y/n and Narberal entered the classroom where they were supposed to sit and watch the initiation of the first years. They had been told it was tradition for the second years to watch and judge the newbies.

Velvet: "Lord Deamon, over here!" They heard the bunny girl shout and they turned to see her waving her hand while pointing at two empty seats with the other. Y/n and Narberal went and sat down next to their 'friends'.

Coco: "So new guy, already decided who to adopt?" Coco asked in a playful manner.

Y/n: "Adopt?" Y/n asked.

Velvet: "The reason the second years watch the new first years is so the teams can choose a team of first years to help out. We call it adopting them." Velvet was happy to explain.

Narberal: "Sounds like a waste of the Lords precious time."

Y/n: "Don't be like that Narberal, I am sure we could also learn from them." It was slowly getting easier to fake the smile and happiness. "But if I had to choose, I would adopt whatever team Ruby gets put on." Y/n answered Cocos question. The sound of Ozpins voice caught their attention and they all turned towards the giant hologram that broadcasted the initiation. Right now the Headmaster was giving everyone the run down of what they had to do. Nothing hard if Y/n was being honest, sure the landing could be a bit rough but beyond that it would be smooth sailing. The overlord could not help but chuckle as he watched everyone get catapulted off, with Jaune totally failing to figure out a landing strategy, luckily for him Phyrra had spotted him and took pity. "I still doubt he has what it takes to be a Huntsmen." Y/n grumbled out as he watched Jaune pathatically hang from the hood of his shirt. Suddenly a very disheveled looking man with green hair and glasses appeared in front of Y/n. "Hello?" Y/n asked confused.

Oobleck: "You must be Y/n Deamon, I am Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck, your history teacher." The man said quickly before rushing off to the front of the class. "Would you like to introduce yourself to the rest of the class?"

Y/n: "No." A moment of silence passed as everyone just stared at Y/n.

Oobleck: "Very well. Now please make sure to focus on the task ahead. I want everyone to prepare a list of first years you wish to become the guide of." Y/n raised his hand after watching the doctor rush around the room at high speeds. "Yes mister Deamon?"

Y/n: "I was wondering what your Semblance is doctor." A big smile appeared on the teachers face and Y/n could swear he saw a few tear well up in the mans eyes.

Oobleck: "Thank you for using the correct title mister Deamon, extra points on your next accessment for that. But to answer your question my Semblance converts caffeine into speed." Y/n nodded and leaned closer to Velvet.

Y/n: "That explains quiet alot actually." The bunny girl had to put her hand over her mouth to not laugh out loud. They continued to watch the new first years do their initiation, nothing much happened over than Ruby and her partner Weiss somehow managing to board a Nevermore, while Jaune and Phyrra angered a Deathstalker. It was rather interesting watching the two formed teams face their respective Grimm. Ruby, along with her sister, Weiss and Blake, Yangs partner, fought the Nevermore and Jaune, Phyrra, Ren and Nora faced the Deathstalker. The overlord had to admit their plans were crazy yet effective. It still took a few instances of pure luck until both of the Grimm were dead.

Oobleck: "While it is not my field of expertise who can tell me what the two teams could have done to defeat their foe quicker?"

Coco: "The Deathstalker could have been thrown of the cliff." Coco quickly answered.

Boy: "For the Nevermore you could have injured or destroyed one of its wings resulting in it plummeting to its death."

Oobleck: "So in short let gravity do its job." The doctor said with a nod. "Mister Deamon do you have another idea what they could have done?"
