Chapter 33

The news of Atlas' murder of Ghira and Kali Belladonna spread like wildfire. Many people all across the globe want Ironwood to tell them the truth about why the Chieftain of Menagerie and his wife had been assassinated.

Using this wave of public outrage Y/n called in a press conference. It was one day before the official start of the Independence War of Menagerie.

Y/n: "Thank you all for coming." Y/n began looking across the room that was filled to the brim with journalists. "2 Days ago at 9:28 PM, six Atlas Black Ops operators broke into the Belladonna residence, their entry was followed by the sounds of gunshots, those gunshots alerted members of my militia. They arrived at the scene at 9:31 PM just in time to see the atlasian operators leaving the residence. A violent gunfight broke out that resulted in the death of all operators and 12 of my soldiers. After the fight was over the remaining soldiers entered the Belladonna residence to find all members of the staff and both Ghira and Kali Belladonna dead. Before we continue I want to voice my condolences to Blake Belladonna, I wish to apologize for having brought this great injustice upon you and your family. It is clear that Atlas thought that killing the chieftain of the capital of Menagerie would be enough to stop the war that is about to break out."

The girl in question was still weeping her heart out back at Beacon as far as Y/n knows. The news had reached her early in the morning and she even sat out her teams fight in the tournament, not that anyone would put that against her.

Y/n: "I ask of you to not go and bother miss Belladonna, instead I am willing to answer all questions to the best of my ability. I am certain everyone of you will have questions, so to make things easy we will start in the row furthest to the back near the corner of the room and go one by one, that way everyone will have a chance to ask a question and I wont have to pick and choose who gets to ask theirs when." The first journalist rose from their seat, introduced themselves as some meaningless reporter for some mediocre online blog and asked his question.

Reporter: "How do you know that the men who murdered the Belladonnas were send by Atlas?"

That was the most vital question for Y/ns set up and one he was all too prepared to answer.

Y/n: "Great question, after all the who idea behind a Black Ops operator is that they can no be traced back to their country of origin. However after having begun to sweep across the nearby area in search of whatever vehicle that was used to bring these men to Menagerie we found the following." With a click of a button the screen behind Y/n came to life and revealed a picture of a small, well hidden encampment. "This is the camp the men had used to prepare their attack, in this camp we found the following hints that connected the men to Atlas. Evidence number one: " the screen now showed a bunch of ammo and weapon crates. "these crates contained the ammo and weaponry of the operators. There is only one manufacturer of this kind of create with this kind of padding in all of Remnant. Marigold & Sons Manufactory, located in Atlas, the main producer for all high grate secruity crates used by Huntsmen and the Army of Atlas." 

The picture of the crates zoomed in to give a close up on the locking mechanisms. 

Y/n: "This type of crate only comes with mechanical locks to prevent a reaction with any dust ammo contained within, they also have a better protection against lock picking and tempering than their electricaly locked counter parts. In these pictures no signs of tempering can be seen nor are their any damages to the hinges whatsoever. This crate could only have been opened with the physical key that has been found on one of the dead soldiers bodies."

For the next hour Y/n made it impossible for anyone to even consider anyone but Atlas behind the attack.

Y/n: "As of now, Blake Belladonna, as the sole heir of the Belladonna family, is the new Chieftess of Kuo Kuana, but since she is currently underaged to take over this role, I, as the lord of most of Menagerie have been designated Acting Chieftain. The role as chieftain will be handed over to miss Belladonna the moment she becomes of age." Y/n sifted through the documents before him and pulled out one of the many papers. Grabbing a pen he signed it before looking up and showing it to the cameras. "As my first act of Acting Chieftain of Kuo Kuana and Lord of the Desserts of Menagerie, I, Y/n Deamon, formally declare war on the Kingdoms of Mistral and, for their vile acts of murder, Atlas. To every able bodied Man or Woman, be they Human or Faunus, the army of Menagerie is asking for your support. That is all, now if you excuse me I have a war to fight."
