Chapter 3

I was back in my shared dorm with wednesday except I was avoiding her in every possible way. I opened the door before checking on all sides if she was in the room. Fortunately for me there was only Thing

"Hi buddy how are you doing ?"

He began to explain to me everything that had happened in my absence

"I'm sure she didn't mean what she said. She can be hurtful sometimes you know"

He nodded

"Come here"

I pointed to my shoulder which he clung to

"I love you bud"

Wednesday rushed into the room. She looked around the room before locking into me and Thing. She approached us before saying :

"I snapped at you. I'll check my tone in the future"

She talked to Thing

"Now chop-chop, before our leads turns cold."

She turned around before starting to leave. But Thing didn't move a finger of my shoulder

"What is that you want ? Hand cream ? Nail buffer ? New cuticle scissors ? Consider it done."

He jumped off my shoulder to land on my lap and started to say something to her that I didn't understand. She looked at me for the first time since entering the room before saying

"Jade."

"Wednesday."I raised an eyebrow

"I'm sorry."

My eyes widened in immense shock at her words.

"Normally you would never apologize"

"I have nothing to get off my chest, and I'm not submitting to your emotional blackmail."

Thing started thumping frantically on my knees

"It's not blackmail I'm worried about you"

"Fine."

She took a paper out of her pocket before unfolding it.

"When Rowan showed me this, it confirmed my greatest fear."

I gasp Wednesday Addams got a fear ?

"That I'm going to be responsible of something terrible. Not a good terrible, like Ivan. Bad terrible. And I can't let that happen."

I took her hand

"That's why I need to find out the truth."

"What do you think Thing ?"

He started nodding

I looked her in the eye

"I'm glad to see you again, I missed you"

"Breath a word to anyone and I will end you."

"It won't happen you got my promise"

I offered her my little finger with a bright smile. She looked at me as if I landed from another planet.

"You're supposed to intertwine our two fingers to make a promise like a pact if you prefer"

She put her finger suspiciously. My smile became brighter

"I'm here to help you, ask me what you want and I'll be at your service. See you later Weds !"

I said before giving her a brief kiss on the cheek and leaving.

When I told her that I didn't expect to find myself in Xavier's room. I was uncomfortably watching her go through Rowan's things. An open sketchbook with a portrait of Wednesday lay on Xavier's desk. What kind of weird people could do that ? She literally only spoke to him twice. Suddenly someone knocked on the door. Wednesday took my hand and led me under his bed. From what we heard Xavier has a crush on Wednesday it's pretty obvious.

"Please promise me you'll never date this guy"

I whispered in her ear

She took my little finger and intertwined it with hers in silence. I smile inside

Wednesday and I entered our room but in my bed we found Enid crying

"Where have you guys been ? I'm litteraly having a heart attack right now. Yoko's in the infirmary"

"What happened ?"

"Garlic bread incident at dinner. She had a major allergic reaction. She's out of the Poe Cup and I don't have a co-pilot."

"It wasn't an accident. Bianca's behind it."

"How do you know ?"

We look at each other before I answer

"It's a long story"

"You and I are going to take her down tomorow."

"Wait. You joigned the black cats ?"

"You joined the black cats ?" I said surprised

"You willing to do that ?"

Wednesday took a step back and intertwined our little fingers together in motion.

"For me ?"

" I want to humiliate Bianca so badly that the bitter taste of defeat burns in her throat."

"Yeah, but mostly you're doing it because we're friends right ?"

I shook her little finger discreetly

"We need to beat her at her own game"

I smiled this year's Poe Cup is going to be interesting...
