Chapter 9

Principal Weems gave her speech and everyone applauded.

"On the mend ? Try in coma."

"Have you been to see him ?" I asked

She looked at me in disbelief

"You're his friend."

"I'm the reason he's in th hospital.*

" That's not your fault you know that ? The monster hasn't attacked anyone in the past week. Maybe you scared it off."

"Or maybe it went into hiding to avoid this weekend"

She looked in the direction of her family as she spoke the phrase

"I knew I should worn my plague mask."

"Don't say that, I'm super happy to see my mother again, I miss her so much. Your brother is really cute by the way."

I looked away and saw my mom I automatically smile. She waved at me enthusiastically, and I waved back excitedly.

"She's there ! I'll leave you there, see you later mon lever de lune ? I would love to meet your brother."

"One day I will find out what it means and that will be your end."

I kissed her cheek quickly and left in the direction of my mother

I wrapped my arms around her neck and gave her a huge hug.

"Tu m'as énormement manqué"

(I missed you so much)

I separated us and smiled brightly at her

"j'ai tellement de choses a te raconter mais pour l'instant allons visiter ma chambre"

(I have so many things to tell you but for now let's visit my room)

I took her hand and led her down the stairs and hallways of Nevermore before we reached my room.

"Our room is divided in two since you know I have a roommate..."

"Ton anglais est quasiment parfait c'est une bonne nouvelle"

I nodded. She seemed to stop and think for a moment

"Ta colocataire ? Celle don't tu me parles souvent...C'est elle a qui tu as embrasser la joue avant de venir vers moi ?"

(Your roommate? The one you often talk to me about...Is it her who you kissed on the cheek before coming to me?)

I was starting to turn red

"Oui c'est elle"

(Yes that's her)

"Je suppose que vous vous entendez bien ?"

She asked me with a sideways glance and a smirk.

"On s'entend plutôt bien je suppose"

(We get along pretty well I guess)

I felt Thing climb on my shoulder

"Oh hey my friend how are you? Yeah that's my mother"
