Chapter 15

Third person pov

Jade awkwardly entered with her crutches the place where Xavier's cell was. He looked at her curiously, she was the last person he expected to see visiting him. Since she was at Nevermore, Jade had only spoken to her once, and she passed out. Yet he had come to see her at the hospital and Jade felt guilty for finding him creepy so she decided to visit him.

"Hi Xavier"

"Hi Jade"

"I don't think you're the Hyde." He sighed in relief

"Thank you Jade, it feels weird that you talk to me without stuttering or fainting"They both started chuckling lightly.

"I know, but you intimidated me a little at first" Said Jade sending him a smile

"It's okay, now you know I'm not creepy" He sent her a smile in return

"I'm sorry Wednesday sent you to jail. If I had been there-"

"You don't need to apologize. You and her seemed pretty close, I don't want to create tension between you two for that. You didn't even have to come see me." Jade shyly adjusts on her crutches to Xavier's sentence about her closeness to Wednesday.

"I owe you that, you came to see me at the hospital." She says full of remorse. She felt really guilty.

A bell rings. It was Jade's phone. She looked up and frowned at the name displaying "Malcolm" what did her mother's bodyguard want? She raised her gaze to Xavier

"I have to take this call sorry. I'll see you later Xavier ?"

"See you later Jade." 

Jade rushed out of the police station and stopped in front of the Weathervane. She called Malcolm back. Did she specify that her mother is a well-known lawyer? And that she lived in several different countries because of the criminal cases in which her mother was implicated? She has a total of 15 bodyguards including Malcolm, when Jade was not at school she was with Malcolm 24 hours a day regardless of the country. But why was he calling her now ?

Phone call

"Malcolm?"

"Hi Jade, I wanted to let you know that your mother is moving to New York."

"What ? But it's been a while since we've lived outside of France, why now ?"

"She has an important investigation which is about to begin."

"What are you talking about, what investigation ?"

"I can't tell you over the phone."

"I get it, I'm guessing you and Ava are moving closer to where we live ?"

"As always, Ava is happy to see you again soon."

"I am too ! Is it because of this case that mom doesn't call me anymore?"

"She's busy with the move and all that, you know..."

"Tell her that I miss her please."

"I will Jade don't worry."

"Thank you for calling me dad it makes me happy to hear your voice"!"
