Chapter 4

Wednesday leaving the tent with her black cat costume. She was really cute with this costume that was for sure. I had been admiring her for a little while when Enid cut me off in my thoughts

"Isn't she perfect like that Jade ?"

I start to stutter heavily

"Nope ! I mean she's perfect like that. No I mean she's always perfect so-"

"You have drool at the corner of your mouth."Enid tells me mischievously

I was wiping the corner of my mouth in reflex when she laughed uncontrollably. Wednesday looked at us curiously, surely not understanding Enid's allusion. I was completely flushed with embarrassment before I said :

"You're really annoying Enid sometimes you know that ?"

She gave me a teasing wink

"Now we have to go on Wednesday! See you at the finish line Jade" she wawed at me

All teams were ready and Principal Weems was giving her speech. Wednesday turns to look at me and I excitedly wave at her. The corner of her mouth lifted very slightly. It makes me even happier. She then turned to Bianca and said something to her that made her frown heavily. The tee shot was then thrown and the race began.

Enid and Wednesday ran with the flag applauded by everyone. I cheered them on enthusiastically. I was really happy for Enid she really wanted this victory and Wednesday had her revenge on Bianca.

Now principal Weems gave the trophy to the team. Enid happily holds it up as Wednesday begins to walk away from the group. I followed her intrigued and found her under the statue.

"Oh Jade asks Wednesday if she want to hang out after." Said Enid to me from afar

I gave her a thumbs up

"What are you doing down here ?"

"Hiding. People keep randomly smilling at me, it's unsettling."

I laughed quietly before sitting down next to her.

"It's called having your moment. You took down Bianca Barclay. Try to enjoy it"

I discreetly approached my little finger to her hand

"The girls wanna know if you wanna hang out later."

Her little finger now touches mine

"Oh, come on, it won't kill you."

She took the initiative to intertwine our fingers together. My cheeks start to cover in pink

"Un...Unless maybe you want to hang out with me ? It would be really nice just you and me together. We'll do what you want promised"

Her pressure on my finger made it slightly stronger

"I'll think about it."

"Thank you Wednesday you have no idea what it means to me"

I kiss her cheek for a long time before heading towards Enid's table with a smile on my face.

We were both in our room, Wednesday was writing on her typewriter and I was listening to Into you by Ariana Grande. It must have been the 5th time she created a leaf.

"Something bothering you on Wednesday?"

She sighs

"When you said that we can hanging out you were being serious ?"
