"Well...I uh, have to go...to that place...that I have to uh ...go to..." you cringed, wanting to melt into the floor at your awkward response.

"Yes, that's right you should go, don't be late," he regained his composure, addressing you with a much more serious tone.

"Yep, then...I'llbeoffbye" you said before rushing off to anywhere that wasn't in a 50m radius of Alhaitham. The weight of the awkward silence would have crushed you if you stayed any longer.

You turned to see who was calling you, mildly disappointed that it wasn't who you wanted it to be...

You watched as the teacher's assistant came running to you.

"Do you need something..?" you asked,

"It's the professor! He wants to see you in his office immediately," the assistant reported, standing straight.

"The professor..." you murmured, shuddering at how you were going to explain your absence to the teacher.

"Yes, come in," Your teacher's voice floated from inside the room.

"Hello, sir..." you slowly walked in, unsure of what to expect.

"Ah, Y/N! How are you doing?"

"Sir, I can explain. Actually... the thing is-"

"Oh no need to explain, Alhaitham told me everything already,"

"He did..?"

"Why yes, he just dropped by a few moments ago. What a journey you've had, hm?"

"Ha..yes it was definitely...interesting," you answered, relieved that you didn't have to explain.

"Hm yes, I'm sure you're still feeling very overwhelmed." He flipped through a few pages on his desk before continuing. "That's why you don't have to attend any of your classes today. Instead, would you mind showing a new student around the school?"

You couldn't believe what you were hearing. As bizarre as it seemed, a day off at the Akademiya was unheard of. You would gladly accept his offer.

"Yes sir, I'd be happy to...and thank you,"

"Oh don't thank me, thank Alhaitham. He was the one who suggested I give you a day off,"

Your eyebrows raised in surprise. All of this coming from Alhaitham was unexpected indeed...but you weren't going to complain about it.

"So who is the new student..?"

"Oh, he should actually be arriving here any time now,"

As if on cue, you heard the door swing open behind you and turned to see a young scholar entering the room. He was wearing the usual blue uniform that looked about a size too big for him, with round glasses.

"H-Hello, sir," he nervously greeted the teacher before stepping into the room.

"Ah, good morning Will, I see you found your way to my room?" the professor walked over to him to pat him on the back. "I'd like you to meet Y/N" he nodded toward you.
