"Oh to hell with this...there's no point trying to hide it anymore" you muttered, placing a hand on your forehead before looking back at Alhaitham. "Look, as much as I hate to admit it....I think I have feelings for you..." you said, each word quieter than the last.

The moments of silence that followed was more painful than anything you had ever experienced. You looked up to see Alhaitham staring at you, wide-eyed.

Dread flooded you as you realized what a horrible idea this had been. That's it, time for Plan B: to avoid Alhaitham at all costs and never be within a 50 m radius of him ever again.

You turned to run out the door, but before you could make it past the doorway, you felt a strong grip on your wrist. Alhaitham pulled you back into the room, shutting the door behind you. Before you could react, he leaned down and tilted your chin up before pressing his lips onto yours.

He quickly pulled away a few seconds afterwards, looking just as stunned as you did.

"What..." you murmured, staring up at him as a mix of emotions struck your heart.

"I..." he paused, a flustered look forming on his face as he struggled to say something to you. "Sorry... I don't know...why I did that...", he said, stepping back. But you knew.

A small smirk formed on your face as you realized what he was feeling. The famed scribe of the Haravat, a highly esteemed member of the Akademiya, was mystified by the small matter of love. You felt bad to find this funny, but it was nothing other than amusing to see one of Sumeru's smartest scholars struggling to comprehend such trivial emotions.

"I apologize...for...." he continued to fumble with his words. It was entertaining as hell.

"You idiot"

"Just shut up," you snapped, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down before placing your lips on his, letting out all of your affection for him in the kiss.

This was something Alhaitham had never experienced before. Being someone who only knew how to rationalize everything, he was clueless in the face of these exhilarating emotions flowing through him as he felt your lips on his.

He knew it was strange, yet he couldn't stop himself from returning your gesture with as much passion as you were pouring into it. He let himself go, clueless on how to deal with this puzzling attraction aside from swiftly reciprocating your intense longing for him.

You gave into Alhaitham's embrace as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling your body closer to his. You could feel his rising heartbeat against your own as your bodies pressed against each other.

Overwhelmed by everything, the two of you lost yourselves in each other as your lips melded against his in harmony. You hadn't realized how much your heart had wanted him until he gave his own heart to you.

Stumbling over the books scattered across the floor, you had surrendered yourself to him completely as he pushed you up against the wall, deepening the kiss full of dangerous desire.

Completely immersed in these overwhelming emotions, your yearning for his skin on yours only grew. His hands tightened around your waist as yours traced the back of his neck.
