"I am soooo sorry about that, Will," you apologized profusely for what had happened, feeling as guilty as ever. "That must have scared you,"

You and Will had found an empty bench in one of the parks outside the Akademiya, and he had managed to calm down.

"It's alright, I guess he had a right to worry. His name was Alhaitham right?" Will asked, looking at you curiously.

"Yea...you may have heard of him before, he's a scribe for the Akademiya. Although I'm sure your impression of him isn't exactly the best..."

"Well actually, as weird as it might sound, um, I'm actually relieved," Will admitted, scratching the back of his head.

You looked at him with genuine confusion for a few seconds, wondering if he had hit his head somewhere.

"Haha no, I am serious," He continued. "I could tell that he cared about you very much, it looked like he was really going to kill me," he shuddered, remembering the past encounter. "But honestly, I was scared that the Akademiya would be full of serious scholars with no emotions whatsoever...and well...what happened earlier just disproved that,"

"Ah...haha...hahaha yeah um...that's a great way to think about it!" you replied, just relieved that he wouldn't sue either of you.

After a long ass exhausting day at the Akademiya, you just wanted to go home to your beloved bed more than anything. You walked out of the gates just as the sun began to sink beneath the horizon, casting purple and pink streaks across the sky.

But you were too distracted to notice any of it. Your mind kept wandering back to Alhaitham.

'What the hell was he thinking....doing that to poor Will. And he didn't even apologize! Tomorrow I'm going to drag him over and make him say sor-'

Your thoughts were interrupted by the subtle shuffling of footsteps behind you. You whirled around, surveying your surroundings before slowly turning back. The sun had disappeared completely, and the only source of light now was the silver moonlight shining down on the streets. It was strangely...empty around and you just had this gut feeling that....something wasn't right...

'Ah, whatever...' You tried to put your concerns at ease as you picked up the pace, walking even faster back to your house. 'Just a few more minutes...'

As you turned into the alleyway behind your house, you froze in your tracks, not making a single noise. That dark feeling in your gut had grown much larger, to the point where it stopped you from moving forward. To you, everything looked fine...quiet...normal....but every cell in your body was screaming at you that there was something wrong.

To make matters worse, it had started to drizzle, slowly but surely wetting your clothes. You shivered as you looked around once more, trying to figure out what was wrong.

"Oh, what's wrong darling? Something...stopping you?"

You had never jumped back so fast in your life. You whipped your head around to see a shadowy figure approaching you from the corners of the alley.

"Who...who are you," you asked, trying to sound as intimidating as possible as you raised your arms in defense.

"Hm, you forgot me so soon", the figure came forward into the moonlight, and your eyes widened as you recognized the eremite. It was the same eremite you and Alhaitham had met in the desert...the same, dangerous, large, eremite that Alhaitham had betrayed.
