Everyone gasped.

"What?!" Carlisle exclaimed. "Why? What happened? I thought you sent that truck over with protection!"

"It's worse than that, sir!" the agent on the other line reported. "Times Square has fallen! Hundreds either killed, injured, or displaced! Security is working to get everyone out, but they could use some help!"

"Any info on the enemies?"

"Alien humanoids.....nothing like our own. Light-blue hues across their body, solid blue eyes, wielding an assortment of various weapons from swords to spears to blasters, guns, and rifles. We've also identified a girl with electrokinesis, a dark-skinned boy riding a motorcycle armed with a .30 Carbine, and a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy with a black power suit, orange highlights, a welder's mask, and plasma beam blasters among the hostiles!"

"Monica, Herman, and Mitchell....." Duncan mused. Then, he also approached Carlisle and spoke into the phone, which was still set to speaker mode. "Can you spot anything else of note?"

"Massive spaceships have infiltrated the airspace above the area, indiscriminately firing lasers at the people below. There also seems to be some kind of jet splashed in white and light-blue coloration accompanying them."

"Wasn't that the vessel I helped you guys take down back when you first recruited me?" Coldsnap inquired as she came to the realization.

Powerhouse nodded gravely. "Yep. Caspian's plane.....the one that I knocked out of the sky. Apparently it's back in action."

"'Caspian'.....? Wait.....Malcorchus and his forces attacked anyway?!" Nightclaw exclaimed in confusion. "But didn't we steal the Control Pylon?!"

Walter frowned. "It looks like he found a way around that.....the king's quite the crafty one, I'll give him that."

"They never learn their lesson, do they?" Clara lamented with a sigh.

"Well, what are we waiting for?!" The Crawler rallied. "Let's roll on this menace!"

Carlisle wasted no time in giving the caller further instructions. "Evacuate as many people as you can and get them to safety. I'll bring in some backup to assist." He was about to hang up, but thought of something else he needed to ask. "Any update on the condition of The Viper's body? Has it been recovered yet?"

"The pod landed in enemy territory!" the agent informed. "Enforcement officers are trying to get to it, but they're pinned down!"

".....Are the wires still attached to the sides?!"

"Umm....." the caller muttered as she used her drone camera to zoom in on the scene. "Yes! They're still intact! There may still be time!"

"Got it. We're on our way."

Carlisle then hung up and put the phone away in his pocket.

"Looks like we got our work cut out for us," Duncan remarked. "We all head to Times Square, locate The Viper's body, jolt her with the juice from this Control Pylon.....then we'll all stop Malcorchus's invasion together."

"Right," Carlisle approved. "You seven go on ahead in Duncan's aircraft; I'll stay behind and gather some more forces before meeting you all over there."

"Who will you get to help you?" Clara asked curiously.

Carlisle smiled slightly. "You'll find out when we arrive. Now, go! Time is of the essence!"
