Akima's POV

It has been a little over sixteen years since Home-tree fell and we sent the sky people back to their dying world. Two years ago, they returned. Forcing us from our villages and we now live in a place we call High Camp. A settlement in the floating mountains. Whenever the sky people get close the forest attacks and the pride is alerted. They can't be in our territory for ten mintues before they are attacked.

It's been hard. Lu'pin has had to grow up quickly. Along with Neteyam and Lo'ak. Jake and Neytiri's sons. Kiri and my daughter Oare help Mo'at tend to the wounded. While my youngest son Tsu'tey longs to join his brother and father in battle. Though I think he just wants to impress Tuktirey, aka Tuk. Jake and Neytiri's youngest daughter.

So Lu'pin is fifteen, nearly sixteen. Same with  Neteyam and Kiri. Lo'ak is fourteen and Oare is thirteen. Little Tsu'tey is nine and Tuk is seven. When the sky people returned two years ago. Jake and Neytiri were having a date night. While Aries and I watched all the kids. When the fire started, we were able to get all the kids out. Tuk though was nearly trapped. Tsu'tey went back for her and I followed. I shifted and got them onto my back. I got them out, but I did get burns. They healed, though there are scars.

Anyway, yesterday we attacked a supply train. Well Jake and Neytiri lead an attack. Lu'pin went with them. He was meant to keep watch with Lo'ak and Neteyam. But they left their post and Lu'pin didn't notice straight away. Until he returned to were he left them while he did a perimeter check and sound the alarm of gun ships.

Jake nearly lost both his sons. But they are ok. Though Neteyam was hurt. Anyway, I am scouting with Lu'pin and Oare. While Aries is back at camp with Tsu'tey. Jake and Neytiri are out on patrol with Neteyam. Lo'ak is supposed to be grounded. But I saw him sneak off with his sisters and Spider.

Lu'pin, Oare and I maybe tracking them. I felt something and pause. "What is wrong?" Oare asks me. I say nothing as I observe. I sense avatars, but not ones I know.

"Return to High Camp, alert the pride. Something is not right" I tell Lu'pin. He nods his head. "Oare go with him" I order.

"What about you?" she asks.

"I will be fine, make sure the pack is ready encase I call for back up" I tell them. They nod and take off back towards high camp. I shifted and stalked through the jungle silently. I soon meet up with Neytiri and we see her kids at knife point. I silently snarl. It is avatars, but in full military gear and one looks like Quaritch, but that's impossible. He died sixteen years ago. Turns out it was him though, I don't know how. But it is him.

We managed to save all the kids. Except Spider. He was taken hostage. But at least Jake and Neytiri's kids are ok. We are back at high camp. I updated the pride, sharing the scent intruders and set up patrols. Before going to check on the other two, only to find them arguing. Their kids eavesdropping.

"I cannot. You cannot ask this.  I cannot leave my people. I will not" Neytiri tells Jake.

"He's hunting us. He's targeting our family" Jake tells her.

"You cannot ask this!" Neytiri cries in fustration. "The children. Everything they've ever known.
The forest. This is our home!" she yells.

"He had our children. He had 'em under his knife" Jake reminds her. She sighs and grabs her father's old bow.

"My father gave me this bow as he lay dying. And he said protect the people. You're Toruk Macto!" she cries.

"This will protect the People! Quaritch has Spider. And that kid knows everything. He knows
our whole operation, and he can lead them right in here. If the People harbor us, they will die.
Do you understand?" Jake asks her. "Look, I got nothing. I got no plan. But I can protect this family. That I can do" he tells her.

I enter the tent. "Listen to him Neytiri" I tell her and she looks at me. "The pride will protect the people. We always have and always will. But you have a family that needs you, protect your family and we will protect the people" I assure her. She cries and Jake places his hands on her shoulders.

"I know one thing. Wherever we go, this family is our fortress" he tells her. She cries, but nods her head. I leave them alone.

The next day, everything was sent. Tarsem is now the new clan leader. Sure, Aries could have taken the roll. But he and I lead the pride. We can't afford to have our focus torn during this time. Tarsem is wise for his years. He will be a strong Olo'eyktan. Once the change of leadership was complete, Jake and his family left.

We all moaned them leaving. Lu'pin lost his best friend. Oare and Tsu'tey lost Tuk. But I know in my hear we'll meet again one day. Maybe not anytime soon. But one day. I send a prayer to Eywa to protect the Sully family, to watch over them as they start their new lives somewhere safe and far away from the forest.
